Why any serious candidate would take on that hot mess I have no idea.

The Head Coach and QB get it in the tabloids. You never hear about a GM getting harassed.

Been there three times, hate it. I don't ever plan on going back.

But as for the gm... Owner with his hands in the cookie jar, old gm who is buds with the owner killed the roster but he is still in the building, stuck with a HC that is a buffoon, no QB, one of the worst offensive rosters in the league, and a lockeroom with no apparent respect for the Team running their gums to the media....

And as you just pointed out in the other thread they have the highest paid center in the league - paid more than joe thomas! - hope they don't have cap issues...

Plus, the off field issues

Saban stays at Alabama and becomes one of the top college coaches in history... Or comes to the browns and is likey fired after 3 years... What choice would you make?

I think he would be a very solid hire, but I think he would be dumb to do it.

So, glad the other thread is locked... Finally. Haha

I'd love to here more ideas on possible candidates... We seem to be saying the same names over and over again.

My personal Top 12.

1. Gus Bradley
2. Kyle Shanahan
3. Rick Dennison
4. Greg Roman
5. Nick Saban
6. Mike McCoy
7. Lovie Smith
8. Ken Wisenhunt
9. Ray Horton
10. Mike Zimmer
11. Jay Gruden
12. Bruce Arians

Chip Kelly would have been my 6th option.

Actually he would have been 7th because I liked the idea of O'Brien a little better.

Good idea, throw a list up... I'm stuck cooking dinner, but I'll do the same in a bit.

And to the above, Seely might be a good candidate. I think ST coaches are too often overlooked.

Brad Seely is probably the most respected ST Coach inthe NFL and has been Assistant HC in both CLE and SF

The positive about not getting Chip is I think it removes the bias from the process and allows us to objectively select the best coach for this team. Easy to fall in love with Chip, but he wasn't being interviewed the same as other candidates, he was being recruited.

Hope we get someone who can build on the foundation and allow us to get a strong personnel exec.
