The other coaching thread has served us well the last couple weeks as we speculated. But I wanted to have a thread so we can track who is interviewing and possibly discuss the candidates in a little more detail.

Marc Trestman
- Current HC for Montreal (CFL)

We have a confirmed interview with Ray Horton?
Well he is the best of the 3 by a wide margin. _________________

LaCanfora from NFL Network said we have an interview with Horton. So I guess that's about as confirmed as we can get, since Haslam and Banner said they will not confirm anything during this process. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

I hope he is a serious canidate as he is a very good leader. He also satisfies the rooney rule so we can act fast once we are able to interview Chip Kelly or Nick Saban. _________________

I would love to see us go after Lovie Smith. He has had the Bears in the playoff hunt almost every year and made it to the Super Bowl with pretty mediocre talent apart from a few defensive players. He has worked with - Jauron, which would allow us to keep a little continuity with the better unit on our team. I don't see it happening, but if I was Haslam, I would go full bore after him. _________________

A brief recap of current rumors:
- Adam Caplan says that Chip Kelly is the Browns' #1 target. His source is two "high-ranking personnel executives." Kelly's agent, David Dunn, has a good working relationship with Banner, as they've done several contract negotiations in the past.
- Chris Mortensen is saying that the Browns will interview Bill O'Brien.
- No one seems to have anything concrete on Nick Saban. Seems to be just pure speculation at this point.
- Aaron Kromer from the Saints is another name gaining steam in the rumor mill. Similar to Saban in that nothing is concrete. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

EXACTLY I'm pimping Lovie too hard for us right now. Bringing him in would allow us to have a OC to have control over our offense without the interference of a HC. _________________

@CBSBrowns: SS T.J. Ward sez he'd love to see old Oregon coach Chip Kelly in Cleve, but QB Weeden wouldn't; admits he can't run Kelly's zone read system
@CBSBrowns: Kelly zone read requires option QB. Weeden pocket passer. Rumors of Vick here might fly if Kelly hired, but not at current $15.5 base salary
Don't exactly know where to post these, but in any case...let the fun begin. _________________ "If you can't stand the neural activity, than stay out of the neural activator" -Professor Fink

| Kelly's style of a North and South run game and high tempo would fit Weeden well. He can't run the zone read, but I don't think it'll be anything more than a rinkle. |

using wins to judge Marrone, isnt very good assesment, if you look at the state of the program today as to the state of the program when he took it over, the program is lightyears better than it was _________________ 2013 Joe Blackburn HOF Award Recipient
