| Quote: | Jennings is a free agent after the season, putting his Packers future in serious doubt. Jennings was asked if he believed he'd be back in Green Bay during a Tuesday appearance on the "Double Coverage" podcast with Steve Wyche and Mark Kriegel.
"An educated guess? ... I'm gonna lean to the 'no' side of it," Jennings said. "That's my educated guess, my personal educated guess."
Given the opportunity, Jennings would like to stay with the Packers.
"Absolutely. I definitely, if I had a choice, me, if it was just my decision, my decision only, absolutely I would be here in a heartbeat," he said. "Wouldn't want to leave at all, but obviously it's two sides, so the Packers are gonna do what's best for them and hopefully I'm what's best.
"But, if not, then I have 31 other teams that hopefully I can show them my résumé and then walk into the door and start back over." |
Jennings also states he doesn't want to re-sign under the franchise tag; if that happened, he'd be in this same situation next year, only a year older. His next contract will likely be the last big contract of his career.
I know Packers fans want Jennings to stay and Jennings would prefer to stay there but with the Packers' abundance of good WRs and Jennings being a non-factor all year, the best thing for both sides might be to let him go. Cobb and Jones have more than proven their worth and if Nelson is ever healthy consistently he's always putting up good numbers too. The Packers could then use the money in other areas to address needs and fill holes, namely getting a LB and some help on the offensive line too.
If Jennings is let to walk, who would be the most likely suitors? Obviously all 31 other teams will have a degree of interest in a talented, clear-cut #1 WR but where do you see him most likely to land? |

I'd like to see him go to the Rams or Vikings. Those teams can get really scary if they get some weapons. _________________

He can come to the Vikings. Its an obvious need and the Vikes havent signed a former Packer to the roster in awhile. |

Miami is the obvious landing spot (no true #1 + Philbin)
Jennings, Hartline and Bees + a TE upgrade would be a nice corps for Tannehill. _________________

Oakland could really use him... along with about 18 other starters. _________________ First jersey purchased: Jamarcus Russell.
Second jersey purchased: Rolando McClain.
Next purchases: Every Chiefs, Chargers and Broncos player. |

He wants big cash! I would love him on the Pats but I highly doubt it happens. _________________

Really doubt he's in GB next year, there are at least 25 other teams that would want his services and many of which would pay more. He knows this.
Washington seems a good possibility. Weapon for RGIII, willing to pay. Lack of money at that position currently.
Indy, Miami, Buffalo may also make a play. I think he goes to a place with at least a competent QB though. |

Just a couple months ago, I was expecting Jacksonville to be in play for him. With the emergence of Shorts and the late coming on of Blackmon, I don't see us throwing that kind of money at a receiver though. Still would love to see him in teal...err...black to pair up with a new young QB, but it doesn't seem likely now. _________________

Dont the Redskins have a lot of money tied into Garcon, Morgan and Moss? Throw in Fred Davis too. The Redskins are fine at the position, they really need to add to the defense. |

The Redskins are fine at the position, they really need to add to the defense. | Morgan signed a 5 year, 12 million dollar deal that is voidable after the 2013 season. Moss is only under contract next year for $4.15 million. Fred Davis has the potential to get a big money deal but they could definitely use another star across from Garcon. _________________
