Fair enough, could just put themselves into a hole not locking Horton down, then deciding he is best option when he has plenty of other better options out there.
Honestly if I am Ray Horton I am hankering for the Chiefs to interview me. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Nah. What if a team is set on Horton but he's not set on them (Which could be our scenario)? You'd damned well better have a backup plan in that case. Same thing the Rams did last year with Horton. Satisify the Rooney Rule and then when he blew them away, boom, they've got a backup plan they're comfortable in if Fisher chose Miami instead of them.
You can't have 1 guy and only 1 guy in mind. You'll get burned. |
Oh I agree, and it could be that exact scenario, but bottom line is, if FO was sold on Horton he would have been offered the job already. |
What are the terms of the Rooney rule? Is it just that you have to have a minority interview or do you have to have someone else interview besides one guy? Could just be something but it could be Horton is weighing out option like you both point out. |
Only need to interview 1 minority candidate.
And yes, Horton is going to look at his options. He's got a lot of them. _________________

I see your point no doubt I'm just saying, I see why Bidwill is going what he's doing.
Love2theoline brought up that it might be wiser to lock down our GM first than it is to lock down Horton. He's got a point. _________________

| Just heard on the radio from MJ - apparently we as an organization don't like dealing with Steve Keim's agent (not sure who that is) - but other than that he says all signs point to Keim as the next GM. |

Let's put this in the Rod Graves or Steve Keim thread please, not the head coaching interview thread. Thanks SuperFly. _________________

Per the man himself, Michael Bidwill, Ray Horton will be interviewed for the vacant head coaching position "very soon". _________________

Again, per the man himself, Andy Reid will be interviewed for the head coaching gig. No word on when/where. _________________

I honestly never got that at all. First two people he mentioned in the whole presser were Keim and Horton....I don't know, I definitely didn't get that at all. _________________
