I don't care if he wants out, no way they can justify releasing him from his contract.
He will be here next year. |
I disagree. The last thing you want is a coaching rift and it's obvious we're headed toward one if this report true. Coaches backbiting each other will gut a team quicker than any roster problem could. |
Then you don't hire Arians if he wants him gone. _________________

They'll see it as a cost of improving the offense. They'll sacrifice Ray and then bring someone else in if they really believe Arians will improve the offense. |

I don't think this is Arians related, personally though it could be. I personally think this is "I want to be head coach" related. Ray wants to be the head coach, we're not going to make him the head coach and he's pissed about it. That's my take.
At this point, we either have to make him the head coach or let him out of his contract. Anything else will be a situation of turmoil and nobody needs that. _________________

Agreed. We need all of our coaching staff to be on the same page. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

That is not the root cause of the issue. Ray wants the Head Job. He has been dragged around. Told his first staff was not good enough. Went out and got arguably the best OC on the market to agree to come with him and we still dallyed around. Now that OC is gone. Ray is essentially not wanted here as the HC, he wants out and it is not through the actions of Arians. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

I think Roman would be a good Head Coach becasue of his knowledge of both sides of the football.
I like his Stanford background, I like the fact that he could pull a guy like Pep Hamilton to be his OC. I like the fact that he would likely want to keep a 3-4 based defensive scheme. I love his knowledge of blocking schemes and his implementation of a power running game.
The more I think about Roman the more I like. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Hamilton was supposed to have interviewed earlier this week for the Jets OC position. Don't know for sure if he actually did or any results from it other than on the 15th he still hadn't accepted a position.
(EDIT) for linky saying still available as of yesterday.

Not at all. they are the only team left without a Head Coach, they can put it right now at Horton out, Bevell>Arians pending further interveiws. They know they are not going to lose Bevell to another HC job, gives them freedom to then interview the likes of Roman. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Ian Rapoport is reporting we have offered the job to Bruce Arians.
