Little concerned about the injury risk, but we've added a couple players that are great at blocking in space and getting to the second level (Levitre, Walker) and it's just another twist to the offense that should make things easier in the passing game. With a better backup QB this year, I think it's a risk that's worth taking simply because of what it could do for our offense.

Absofreakinlutely. I'm pumped.

Quote:
Free agent WR Kevin Walter is visiting the Titans on Tuesday.
As is Brandon Stokley. It's the first we've heard of Walter since he was cut loose by the Texans on the first day of free agency. The Titans have a crowded receiver corps, but would be short on veteran experience if Nate Washington is traded or released, as expected. Walter is durable and sure-handed, but offers little as a play-maker. He'd be a downgrade from Washington.

Hopefully we won't sign them.

Agreed. I wouldn't of minded Stokley like 3 or 4 years ago but not now.

If we are going to sign a free agent WR, this would be my list:
1. Danario Alexander (RFA)
2. Braylon Edwards
3. Mohamed Massaquoi
4. Steve Smith (Rams)
5. Darrius Heyward-Bey
6. Deon Butler

We obviously want a slot guy though.

Maybe they are waiting til SD spends their cap space, so they will not match offer to Alexander. He's only guy out there I think is worth signing.

Per RW.

Quote:
Free agent Chaz Schilens is visiting the Titans on Wednesday.
The Titans hosted fellow underwhelming free-agent wideouts Kevin Walter and Brandon Stokley on Tuesday. Schilens is the youngest of the group, at age 27. We don't believe any of the trio would be an upgrade for Tennessee.

I don't want any of these guys signed. All 3 would be a downgrade from Nate, whether Nate feelings are hurt or not.

I liked Schilens when he came out of San Diego State. I wouldn't mind him signing. Not an immediate upgrade over Nate, but could be ...He got the size and speed.

If we're looking this hard at wide receivers, I'm kind of baffled why we haven't brought in Brandon Lloyd or DHB. Would make much more sense IMO.

Neither guy of those guys play the slot. Which is what the Titans are looking for on the free agent market at WR. DHB had the scary concussion last season and Lloyd is rumored to be bipolar.
