I'll be shocked if Al Saunders is promoted to OC. Why wouldn't Allen just make him OC last year? Why bring in Knapp. Its doesn't make any sense. Saunders had another year on his contract and Raiders let him stick around. I don't think he'll be on the staff in 2013.... Unless Raiders can't get anyone and he is their last resort.

Al Saunders was friends with Al Davis and John Madden.
John Madden and Al Saunders were assistant coaches for Don Coryell.
They all three came from San Diego.

marty mornhinweg is my pick for OC. He had been the eagles OC for 6 years. He is an experienced play caller. Oak/Phily have somewhat similar skill set on offense. Oak just lacks someone who can call plays. Oak had a top 10 offense 2 years ago. Marty uses the PBS. That's what we need.

With all due respect I completely disagree. Philly is a WCO/ZBS team. Most of the Raiders current personnel would not fit in their offense outside of Meyers, Moore, Streater, & Veldheer. Brisiel, who is well versed in the ZBS, would not be a good fit in Philly because they prefer larger OL.

Imo, the Raiders current staff is best suited for a vertical PBS. Norv Turner would be an absolute coup. A proven veteran playcaller who no longer has ambitions of being a HC (a la Tom Moore or - Lebeau). Veteran coordinators such as these are rare finds and provide invaluable consistency from year to year as they no longer want to bounce around the league.

Are we not rumoured to talk to any coaches so far? I find that surprising.

Why? The playoffs haven't started. A lot of hot candidates on those teams.

Don't we have to have our offensive staff assembled before the Senior Bowl practices start?

Then who is going to coach the offense during the senior bowl practices and call plays during the game?

If only it were that easy. I'm assuming Al Saunders will handle the offense during the Senior Bowl if we haven't assembled an offensive staff before then.
