It seems like a good idea to have a thread where we can give updates about players, staff, and anything else.

Would be a huge loss after just one year. We need him to stay for a few years at least, but honestly, I doubt he will get the job. _________________

It seems the Browns and the Eaglers are the other teams to interview him. Just posting what I read from twitter.
I dislike when the want to interview our coordinators during playoffs, it's not precisely a moment for distractions. _________________

Eagles have asked permission to interview Falcons DC Mike Nolan, plan to interview him Friday. |
God! Would be an even bigger loss than Koetter _________________

Well I guess that's expected when you have two good coordinators. Koetter and/or Nolan would be huge losses. _________________

I think in the NFL should make a rule, in the 'spirit of competitive fairness' that other teams should not be allowed to interview any other team's coaching staff until one day after the super bowl.
It's a double edged sword when another team (ie the eagles) as our organization to interview our guys. If we say no, then the staff could view Atlanta as them holding them back. At the same time we say yes, then these guys are not 100% focused on the upcoming week.
I am not sure if there has been any other team where 3 coaches, and front office staff have all been interviewed for various positions.
It's horrible at the college level when teams go to bowl games and coaches leave to go to other schools. I know the NFL is different where as the coach would finish out the year, but it has to effect the team and the coaches mentally in regards to the upcoming employment. |

It sucks how whenever we get good coordinators other teams come swooping in to snatch them up (see Mike Zimmer, Hue Jackson, Musgrave, etc) _________________ formerly MadAtFalcons |

| Isn't it funny how some 10 months ago we were all saying Dirk Koetter WHO? Everyone was bent out of shape for it being such an unsexy hire. Typical Jags foundation hire. Well fast forward and now we are all hoping he doesn't go. What a fantastic job he has done this season. I hope we go deep into the playoffs. His chances of staying become much better. |

Its easy to see why other teams are interested in Koetter and Nolan after the spectacular jobs they each did here in their first years with us.. but as a Falcons fan I don't want either of them leaving, period. I don't want to have to deal with getting a new OC and DC which would end up having us with new schemes and plays.. considering we just did that last year. Even if one of them left and we filled their position with someone already on the staff, even if we kept the same schemes and stuff, having a new coordinator means new things and we just dont need that right now. Ive even heard that teams are interested in our Special Teams coach Keith Armstrong.. and ive never heard a team hiring a ST coach to be a Head Coach other than with John Harbaugh in Baltimore, the only guy ive ever heard that made that jump. I wonder why Armstrong is so high on some teams lists.. anyone know why he may be coveted by teams? _________________

@vitostellino: I guess Shad Khan likes to go home at night. He is scheduled to leave at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday morn to Dekalb-Peachtree airport in Atlanta.
Khan heading back for a 2nd interview with Dave Caldwell. Thoughts on him?
And please tell me he's not a fan of Mularkey. _________________

And please tell me he's not a fan of Mularkey. | He's a big reason why Atlanta liked Julio Jones. He pointed out some things to Dimitroff that he felt made Jones "bust-proof" as long as he could stay healthy. _________________

May be a false alarm. He is only going to be in Atlanta for 30 minutes. Still think Caldwell is a favorite to land the job. _________________
