I saw he said something about not being happy about how he wasn't being utilized to show off his skills or something like that, as if he didn't get the opportunity all year to return punts and KO even when he was struggling and that he wasn't kept on the field in the offense most of the year when he continually proved himself unable to do all of the things he can (apparently) do in practice, which is to say, catch the ball and make plays when he gets his hands on the ball.
The ironic thing about him griping is that there was a good chance he wasn't going to be back next year even if Lovie hadn't been fired.

| When the NFL changed all the rules on kickoffs, they ended Hester's career. That, in conjunction with Angelo and Lovie's wild wide receiver fantasy that took Hester's focus off of simply doing what he does best. His comments were immature, IMHO. I understand he loved Lovie, but there's better ways to express that to the media. |

No, I would put on my big boy pants and work my keister off every day and happily collect my seven figure paycheck.

How did those rules hurt Hester? |
It basically allowed them to kick every kickoff into the stands. Sure, he still had punt returns, but by then teams had become much more efficient at kicking away from him or adapting their coverage. My point is, Hester can go ahead and retire. Without being a Pro-Bowl returner, he has nothing else to offer this team. His WR experiment was an unmitigated failure. |

That's not really what did it. The thing that killed it for him was the rule that disallowed 3 man wedges on returns.

That's not really what did it. The thing that killed it for him was the rule that disallowed 3 man wedges on returns. |
Don't discount the loss of some core ST guys either like Corey Graham.

Sounds like he's acting like a baby after having his worst professional season in a time where he can probably see the writing on the wall that his career may just about be over anyways.
