One report says he will, another says he won't. I'm leaning towards him probably not getting interviewed. _________________

Just looking at who has been interviewed already, and who is scheduled to interview - I don't see the Bears going after Kelly. I believe Pompei on this one.
I think Emery is going to wrap up interviews early next week and then look to bring back candidates for second interviews the end of next week and make a decision (assuming that their candidates are out of the playoffs). _________________

I wouldn't want Kelly anyways.
The way ND was beat was humiliating. He's overrated to me. |

It seems that more often than not college coaches don't fair well in the NFL. There are always exceptions of course.
And I agree that based upon who Emery has interviewed (or scheduled) no college coach seems to fit the bill. _________________

| I think after Sunday we will be finished with the first round of interviews…then I would expect hopefully by Monday but surely by Tuesday they will know who the finalists are…then I would expect an HC to be in place…or at least be agreed upon…by next weekend. |

According to Michael C Wright - Emery said, post press-conference, that he wasn't considering College coaches that didn't have any NFL experience.
That leaves Kelly out. _________________

Well there you go. Sounds like Brian Kelly's agent was probably trying to create leverage and had an oopsie by floating something easily debunked. _________________

The nice thing is that they won't be competition for any of the Bears candidates. Nobody in their right mind would take that job over CHI. Perhaps a new home for Lovie though. _________________

I can see it already - Lovie Smith at the podium, 'Tim Tebow is our QB'. _________________

If you ask me, Trestman is the best candidate. This is coming from a guy who laughed at the idea of him, I seriously thought it was dumb. But look at his coaching career, it reminds me of Payton and Belicheck.
Seriously I think he's our guy. |

Yeah, the Bears are seeing sugar plums with Kelly.

My list:
Trestman
Dennison
Arians
So it is written. _________________

It’s another team with a new GM tho…if Caldwell is willing to give up a lot of power then maybe a coach would take that over coming here…you never know what kind of other factors like family could play into a coach’s decision…
I also agree it could be a good landing spot of Lovie…altho I think any team would be lucky to have Lovie as long as they don’t allow him full control over his staff. |
