The NFL has added four coaches to its subcommittee for the influential Competition Committee, which discusses and recommends rules changes.

Commissioner Roger Goodell chose Minnesota's Leslie Frazier, Miami's Joe Philbin, Carolina's Ron Rivera and Atlanta's Mike Smith for the subcommittee, which is chaired by Hall of Fame coach John Madden.

congrats, Les.

Frazier was quoted that the Vikings voted for the rule change about lowering your helmet in to another player even though they knew it would impact Peterson's instinctive style. they were not in favor of the rule change, but voted yes to show support of a decision that they knew was going to pass.

Yes, they should have continued to vote no anyway, but they didn't want to be viewed as "against player safety."

so in other words, we voted yes to not stand out, and look good in the public eye?

I hate that. I can't stand when people are afraid to voice their opinion, even if that means it doesn't agree with the mass public.
