Since the offseason is just about to take place, and we are going to start making moves pretty soon, we should have a thread dedicated to tracking everything that happens once they happen. I will have an updated list in this post, and we can keep all discussion here as well. This will be the official place to have an updated list of all of our offseason transactions. All major new can still have their own thread, and be discussed in both threads. Major news would be something like Schwartz being fired, or Suh being traded. Releasing a backup player or a low level starter is not considered major news and should be posted and discussed here. Obviously that isn't all black and white, but that problem shouldn't arise very often.

We can also include rumors in this thread and discuss them here. When you find any news about a transaction that occurs, post it in this thread, and I will update the OP. If you find any rumors you feel that are worth discussing (or if you want to start a rumor), this will be a good place for that. I will have it organized into trades, re-signings, cuts, etc once we start getting some news.

This is from the Black Monday prediction thread.

Chris Mortenson reports that the Fords may be considering taking action on Schwartz due to "the image of the team and his management style".

I think it is a huge reach and if he hits he looks genius. He has yet to talk to anyone really attached to Det.

Still a rumor to discuss though

Considering the source, it's very interesting. Mort is very involved and I would believe he's got connections all up and down each organization. But the article says he didn't talk to the Fords directly so this isn't a primary source. But it's one of the top secondary sources.

Like I said these guys live on hitting on hunches. I can take a stab at 10 coaches getting fired and hit on half and look brilliant with zero sources is my point.

This guys accuracy is up there.

If he is safe this means Mayhew safe. No owner going to call coach safe and hire new GM to stick with a guy who is not his coach

Yeah, usually the coach goes if the GM does (unless its a Belicheck & Pioli situation).

If Schwartz does go do you expect all of the coaches to go?

Do you expect a complete revamp of the roster top to bottom? Or do you think the new coach(es) would want to stick with a lot of the players we have and go from there?

I think a lot of the players are safe. Most of our DL who should stay even if we keep Schwartz are scheme diverse, so they are safe. Same for Tulloch and Levy, and our backup LBs (it would mean bye bye Durant). The young secondary guys would stay, probably Delmas and Houston too. Reiff and Sims would be the only safe OL. Leshoure and Bell are safe. Stafford, Calvin, and Broyles would be safe. Maybe Durham, Thomas & Osgood.

So, a lot of role players could be gone if we overhaul the coaches.

I could see Gunter staying with a new HC. Same for Tim Walton. The rest would probably be gone.

Considering all the FA to be it could be huge roster turnover with new staff

So apparently the Jags are going to release Gene Smith as their GM. Wouldn't mind bringing him in as a character consultant or something like that. The worst that could happen would be he has no power and makes us look better in the public eye. Maybe he could help prevent another Titus Young debacle for us.

Lovie Smith and Romeo Crennel fired. Any interest in them?

Finally, The Rooneys who own the Steelers would never stand for a HC who acts like this especially after the season he's had.
