I agree with that this draft class isn't that great. Especially not for our needs. It's good at DE and DT but that's about it. _________________

| The qb position is actually a but deeper than many think. There are no elite studs like luck of RGIII but there are about 6 or 7 with starter potential. |

It should have a lot of pass rushers and corners. Which are the positions we need he most. _________________

This debate happens every year and I understand both sides. A loss would have helped us get a better draft pick, presumably allowing us to draft a blue-chip caliber prospect in the top-10. A win ends the season on a high note, giving us hope for the direction of this team.
Against a playoff bound division opponent with Freeman struggling and our team mired in a 5 game losing streak I much prefer the win. Sure, we dropped a couple spots in the draft, but as a fan I need that glimmer of hope to get me through the off-season. Yesterday's game gave that to me. _________________

I'm kind of in the middle. Winning that game means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things, all it does it lessen our chance of picking a top prospect compared to a middling prospect. As a Leafs fan, I know all too well how winning towards the end of the year does NOTHING but ruin your draft position. All that crap about ending the year on a high note, getting momentum for next year, etc is just that...crap. It means nothing.
That being said, I will not and cannot ever cheer for my team to lose. I'm happy we beat the soon to be one and done Falcons. _________________

That's about the perfect position for us to get Xavier Rhodes who I think is the kind of player we want. He's a factor in the run defense and has the most shutdown corner potential. _________________

I'm not a fan of the secondary in this draft. I wanted Claiborne last year. _________________

I hope Roby declares. If not I believe Banks has the highest potential. That is one thing I hate about Bama players is that they don't have a high ceiling. I mean name a recently good Bama player in the NFL. Look at all the great teams they have had. Besides Trent I can't think of one. _________________

Few points
1. I too, think this draft class is underwhelming. Pocking 9th vs picking 13th. Whatever. For our biggest need, the slotting doesn't really make a difference IMO.
2. I'd prolly rather just trade back if it was possible. Pick up an extra 2nd so we are able to address more positions.
3. I WANTED to win yesterdays game. Was very exciting to see our 1st round picks closing out the win. But I admit I wasn't very excited when we won against the Browns in 2006. That win was the reason why we drafted Gaines Adams vs Calvin Johnson. I was so set on us drafting CJ, that I was pretty much cool with us losing out.
I guess it really depends for me. If a once a generation player is at the top of the draft, and we are absolutely terrible, I don't mind the end of the season L's. But I don't think we are terrible (only at a few positions) and I don't see the once a generation players in this draft, so I want us to win, forget the draft slots.
4. If we stay where we are, I'm almost inclined to want us to draft the best available DL rather than reach for CB. For some reason, I think a really good one is going to fall to us. If we sign a veteran CB and draft a CB in the 2nd, we should be better, especially with a more consistent pass rush.
5. I hope we don't draft Teo. _________________

I have no interest in trading back, matter of fact I would love to make a move for Star Lotulelei or Jarvis Jones. Imagine the impact either of those guys would make on our team. Gerald and Star on the inside with Clayborn and Bennett on the outside with Bowers and Miller rotating in! Jones could the rush specialist that takes our defense over the top. Plays slb and on passing downs pins his ears back and go hunting!
I see no need to trade back. Yes we have holes to fill but we have a great core of guys already lets keep adding more. We already have depth guys. Miller, Black, Johnson, Black, Biggers are guys that have started for us this year. They should be #3/4 type guys. We need playmakers, guys that can make a difference.
If we stand pat at 13 grab bpa, I expect Mark to either move up into the end of the first or move up from the third into the end of the second. I would rather grab a potential superstar instead of two solid guys or two solid guys instead of three decent etc. etc. We will be making moves come fa time so one or two of our holes should be filled when the draft starts. _________________

I'd say its a pretty deep class overall, at a lot of positions. But the QB class is weak and there's not many top tier guys in this draft at all. |

Sorry I don't want another Freeman, but we will see as I wouldn't mind picking up a QB in the later rounds. _________________ Adopt a Buc:
