This is true. And it is pretty sad...
But the upside is that, is that it puts us in a really good situation for trading back i think. Plenty of teams are going to have specific needs they're looking to upgrade and might be desperate. There's always teams who leapfrog up to grab a certain position. For us...if we've got a half dozen prospects at different positions all ranked very close, we can trade back and not worry about missing out on a particular position. Still get roughly the same value pick, with whatever added pick(s) we can nab...and we're pretty much guaranteed to be getting a guy at a 'need position'.  |

But we never seem to be one of those teams that trades back and accumulates alot of picks

Maybe I'm looking at it too literally, but I can't think of any team that has a position that can't stand to be upgraded. Maybe the 49ers QB position if they retain Smith as the backup?

What do you mean? That reads like you're saying that every team has at least 1 position they can improve on?...isnt that a Duh statement?

I dont quite understand that. How can a team like GB improve their QB or how can we improve our punter?

Punters and Kickers are about it.
Rodgers has a concussion history. They need a better backup than Harrell. Matt Flynn was good there, but he's gone.
Patriots, Broncos, Saints all have top QBs, but they probably all need to start looking for future guys. Everyone else could use a starter or backup except maybe the 49ers. The Skins could have been put there, but RGIII might have a serious problem.
At RB, there isn't a team in the league with a Fred Taylor/MJD situation.
WR - I don't think there's been a complete WR corps since the 04 Colts unit. Even the 07 Pats needed a better slot guy.
TE - The Pats may have this locked down, but Gronk may have an injury problem that they should account for.
OL - 49ers need depth, everyone else could stand to upgrade a player or add depth
DE - not a team in the league that couldn't use another pass rusher.
DT - honestly, I'm not too knowledgeable on the league's DT groups, but I doubt there's a complete group out there.
LB - not one complete LB corps in the league
CB - even teams like the Bears and Jets could stand to upgrade their nickel/dime CBs.
Safety - there's no team with two young elite guys that I can think of.
Like I said, I may be taking the point too literally, but I don't see a single team that has any position aside from Kickers/Punters where a drafted player couldn't fit in.

I think it's more that their quarterback is really good.

He's going to want a 3-4 year deal for $8-10 mill a year. They have no reason to pay him that with how well they did without him. He may get Franchised, but ultimately he's gone this season or next.
