He can come out next year, but I doubt he does. | Isn't he a true freshman? |

Redshirt.
But still. Like I have said before, it is in his best interest to say through his senior year. _________________

Or we could just 'settle' for Teddy Bridgewater next year. I'd be content with that. |

Or we could just wait a few years and draft Luke Del Rio _________________

The point was that that's a bad comparison _________________

The more i think about it, the more i manage to convince myself that Arizona at #7 might be a viable trade back opportunity. If not for Geno/Wilson, more likely for Joeckel. Especially with the news of Lewan not coming out.
Wouldn't expect a huge return on it necessarily, but i have to think that adds some pressure to grab that top-end LT in Joeckel before someone else does (Eagles, Raiders, Lions, etc.).
And imo #7 would be a good spot to sit if we can pick up some extra lil somethin' somethin' on the side (extra picks). Seems like a good chance one of the 'top guys' falls into our laps there if that were to happen.
But then again, i could just be deluding myself with wishful thinking. |

I think it's more likely that someone trades up to #6 to jump Arizona for Joeckel than it is that Arizona trades up to #2 for Joeckel. _________________

I guess it depends how serious other teams feel a team like Philly is about taking Joeckel. If he's a legit candidate for Philly at #4, you'd have to leapfrog them which puts you squarely in the market of Jacksonville and Oakland...or you risk getting left out in the cold. For a team a bit later where a guy like Fisher or even Lane Johnson might be reasonable value, i'm not sure it's such an issue. But for a team like Arizona sitting at #7...Kinda no man's land as far as finding a top end OT.
But it does hinge a lot on thinking Philly could opt to go with Joeckel. Otherwise i think you're right...jumping up to #6 just ahead of Arizona does make more sense. |

If they were afraid of Philadelphia, they'd take the lesser deal the Raiders may ask for due to them not having as many picks. _________________

It would most likely cost a 1st and a 2nd to jump that high, especially if caldwell feels there is not a guy he likes in that spot.
Past history suggests that caldwell does not like to trade down. However, that was under dimitroff. |

Every team is looking to trade down because of the uncertainty at the top of the draft. Jags won't find a partner, as Reggie McKenzie will be opened to doing business the selection later. The choice to me is BPA (Joeckel) or a pass rusher.
I'd personally take Barkevious Mingo, but Caldwell will want a safe pick to start his regime. _________________ I'd Select Ziggy Ansah 1st Overall |
