If it's a hip injury, could the injury not be so severe? could Ninkovich be back at some point in the playoffs?

Gregory missed like 3-4 games because of it.
IIRC Gregory walked off the field on his own when he hurt his.

I'm not a doctor (obviously), but I can't remember too many hip injuries that are muscle/tissue based that are quick heals. I would think that a best case scenario would be him coming back for the Super Bowl, if the Pats make it that far.

Then again, he might be able to go in 2 weeks. It's rare to see a guy have that much difficulty putting weight on his leg one week and come back quickly (outside of cramps).

***Update***
Quote:
Rob Ninkovich suffered some strained muscles in his hip, but he has a better chance to play than not next week, according to a source.

That's obviously huge news for Ninkovich and the Patriots. There was some real fear they lost him when he initially went down.

Great news. Very Happy

I'll be really impressed if he plays next week, given that the Pats don't have a game.

We've got to be the healthiest team going into the playoffs. Hopefully Dennard and Talib are 100% in two weeks.

Healthiest in the AFC, most likely.
Seattle is the healthiest overall.

Seems like a huge risk to ever point out how healthy the team is.

Only if you're superstitious about that sort of thing.

I'm not too worried about Talib & Dennard, each essentially have 3 weeks of rest.

Excellent news! I thought for sure he was going to be done for the year when I saw him being helped off the field.

Phew.
