This is going to sound bad but the only way the Titans will ever win anything is when Bud kicks it. God it is so tough rooting for this organization some times. _________________ My Teams:

The talent is there on the team... is getting fired for Munch? Yet Munch gets to stay? How exactly does that work? Or was it for promoting Webster... who also gets to stay?
This team really has no hope until new ownership takes over and stops making moves like these. Ridiculous, idiotic, inexplicable... |
People are too easy on Reinfeldt here.
He's been responsible for some incredibly awful decisions, namely the Griffin/Finny situation among others. _________________

I'm cool with that, mainly because Lovie runs a 4-3. But does Lovie use blitz packages or do more than just Cover 2? _________________ Wedding Vow: I promise I will love you until the day you really p-ss me off. |

I think he's a rush four kind of guy, not 100% on that though. _________________

That should be every Titans fan dream coaching staff, at this point, but I think Lovie is set on getting another HC, since he's rumored to be in the Bills HC mix. While, I don't see Munchak being able to convince Norv to come to Nashville over Baltimore, which is where I think he ends up. _________________

| What likely happens is we make Tom Moore the OC and Gray sticks around as DC. Moore is as good as any offensive mind out there and is already on our staff, so no issue there. We likely won't be able to draw in any big time defensive mind, so Gray is likely to stick around. |

I don't have a problem with Tom Moore staying on as our OC, but I have a real problem with the idea of Jerry Gray sticking around as our DC. His strategy has got to improve. I don't want to see anymore "play-it-safe" defense out of him (or any other DC of ours) ever.
NOTE: Next season we need to start looking into other QB options. If we're not going to give Rusty Smith a real shot, we need to release Hasselbeck and find another QB to challenge Jake Locker for the starting job. I'm eyeballing Alex Smith myself. _________________ Wedding Vow: I promise I will love you until the day you really p-ss me off. |

How do you allow the most points in franchise history and still have a job?
I know Jerry Gray had some decent moments, but we got blown out too many times. _________________

By virtue of having a HC who only has 1 more year to prove himself. Absolutely no job security here. Won't be able to get anyone worth actually switching to. |

DAMN!!!
You make a very valid point. I can't even argue with that reasoning. But if Munchak is stuck with Gray, he better get in his a$$ about all of these blowouts and tell him to get that defense tightened up. _________________ Wedding Vow: I promise I will love you until the day you really p-ss me off. |

With Gray as DC, Munch is going to look at why we got blown out. Keep in mind some of them blowouts weren't the defenses total fault.
Short Fields
Offensive woes
Special team failures
Pick 6's.
I think Munch will look at did they improve on their assignments throughout the year.
Did the failure come from poor play like from Griff and others... or bad play calls.
Could it improve with better players like a new DT, CB and Safety or is the scheme flawed?
I think we saw at the end, the scheme could work given proper play and playcalling. Playing lower competition doesn't hurt.
I recall against the Patriots, we tried blizting couple times only to see Griff mess up horribly on coverage and the LB (McCarthy) not get there, resulting in a big gain and another in TD.
Then we didn't blitz anymore that game.
So aggressive play can come when the players can be trusted to carry out their assignment.
This isnt a defense of Gray, but an look into what I think Munch will be thinking. |

Why do people think we need another DT? Or one in the first round for that matter?
I think the Marks/Casey/Klug/Martin rotation is solid. Not the best in the league, but why would DT even be a top 5 position of need? _________________

Because we fail to collapse the pocket far to often and we get gashed up the middle too frequently.
Klug was invisible for most of the year. Marks maybe gone.
Martin is still an unproven player. He is still a rotational player at the moment.
A STUD DT would do nothing but help this team.
STUD DT or DE
MLB
CB
S
Are areas of need in my view of it. |
