Goodell reinstated him, I think it was only to talk contract stuff though. _________________

no surprise at all to me.. I can see that Payton would not have wanted to go out in NOLA the way it all ended for him this past off season.. almost like him coming back can show all the haters who ripped on him very early into the bounty scandal that he's a tremendous coach. If the Ains had Payton and all their players from the get go, I can easily see them at least giving us some trouble for the division, which seems to be every year since the Brees/Payton duo.. I don't see the Aints being able to have a better record than we have so far this year, but I definitely see them being able to pickup one of the last few playoff berths this year. Also, raking in the money that he just did probably made him realize that there was nowhere better for him..
only other place I could have seen him go to would have been Dallas.. but I don't think he would want to have Jerry Jones trying to dictate the front office and make roster moves on his decisions.. Payton maybe wouldn't have wanted full control, but if they at least had a real GM that made the personnel moves I could have seen this Dallas job as a lot more appealing.. Jerry Jones simply has not done his own beloved franchise the right way.. he needs to realize soon that the best case scenario would be to bring in a true experienced GM to make those roster changes, my own $0.02.. _________________

He makes the same amount of money as Eric Wright.
I would be surprised if he didn't return to New Orleans. _________________

Exactly. Tends to make any HC coach look good. Sometimes two in the same season. _________________

Wasn't Brees losing those games but that pitiful defense. That is until the spark known as the Philadelphia Eagles Oline came to town. _________________

My point still stands.
Kromer isn't up for any COTY awards because Brees made him look good. _________________

Kroner looked like what he was. The sacrificial lamb positional coach thrown to the wolves. Still does negate the fact Brees makes Payton look good. Deny that all you want. Not as thought Drew's numbers took a massive hit let's be honest. _________________

So Brees, who only 2 teams wanted, came to New Orleans and made Payton look good, but he isn't making Kromer look good, but when Payton comes back, he'll make Payton look good again?
This is ignoring the fact that you said Brees makes any HC look good.
I've heard plenty of people say that Payton makes Brees look better than he is, but I've never heard it the other way around. _________________

So why did Brees put up similar numbers with Kroner and Vitt as HC? I mean if his success is dictated by Payton and not the other way around how do you explain 5000+ and 40+ TD "AGAIN" in his absence? I never said Payton played no roll in the Saints SB or Drew Brees having success. However the fact remains Sean was never stupid enough to leave his HOF QB who has the ability to run his offense with or without him. Hence a QB that makes you look good. _________________
