• The biggest surprise in Tampa Bay’s rookie mini-camp was quarterback Mike Glennon, the team’s third-round pick. The coaching staff was pleasantly surprised with how quickly he grasped the concepts of the offense and the plays, and also with his mechanics. Glennon is far from a finished product, but the Bucs truthfully drafted him to become Josh Freeman’s backup in the second day of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Now I'm not saying there will be an open competition, but if this holds suit and Glennon grasps the offense much faster than Freeman did, it will only increase the temperatures of Freeman's already burning seat.

Don't get too excited, we've heard this kind of hype behind Tyrone McKenzie and Michael Clayton...It's good to hear but let's wait until the bullets start flying.

It's not that it's excitement or over exaggeration. But it's something worth keeping an eye on how quickly Glennon processes and learns the offense because so many other fans and analystss claim that was Freeman's problem was the "system"

Apparently Glennon earned two degrees at NC State. A master's degree in Liberal Studies and an undergraduate degree in business finance. Not really a suprise, he would be able to grasp the offensive playbook rather quickly.

I'm looking forward to see what he can do in the preseason. I wasn't comfortable with only Orlovsky being the only potential back-up to Freeman.

Darrelle Revis (torn ACL) will not participate in OTAs, as expected.Revis sustained his tear nearly eight months ago. The Bucs are confident that by the time training camp rolls around, he'll be 100 percent and ready to integrate with his new teammates.

Don't want him to rush back but damn I can't wait to see him do his thing in a Bucs jersey!

As long as he doesn't pull a drose all season i'm happy, with Revis staying off the field.

As a now suicidal Leafs fan, the Bucs better be good this year or someone is getting set on fire.

Does a 4-1 start mean we will end up collapsing the rest of the season... Wink

If we start 4-1, I will cry. But you know, a manly man cry.

I'm fireproof, so I think I'm exempt from your rage.

The new rookie scale has made these deals go down so smooth. Just Banks and Glennon left

Overview: While the Buccaneers' 2012 offensive line ratings were not particularly strong, keep in mind they only got seven combined games from Nicks and Joseph, who form quite possibly the NFL's premier guard duo east of San Francisco. Nicks earned consecutive Pro Bowl trips before arriving in Tampa Bay last offseason, including a 2011 All-Pro berth. Joseph is a brute power blocker. They're healthy now. Despite injuries to arguably their best two linemen, the Bucs still allowed the third fewest sacks in football (26) and ranked 11th in yards-per-carry average (4.42). Depth is somewhat concerning, but there aren't five better starting O-Lines in the league.

Regardless of how many other buc fans want to make excuses about poor line play with out Nicks and Joseph, they still performed well ranking high in pass protection.

This is why I question depth concerns. We could upgrade C and RT but it's not impossible to move forward with what we've got.

Having Nicks and Joseph for a full season I expect us to jump into the top two by the time next years ranking come out.

Honestly, even with our injuries to two top 5 Gs, we still had a Oline that ranged in the 12-16 range. That speaks volumes of our depth than you think.

I beat Aaron Rodgers and Mike Vick would have loved to be behind our line ,last year, even without Nicks and Joseph.

There was a stretch were they were untouchable, Freeman's numbers showed it. A full year with everyone healthy should do wonders. I expect big things from this entire offense. No excuses from me

OTA's started today. A couple tidbits:

OTAs are voluntary, but the Bucs had perfect attendance for the first OTA.

Coach says QB Josh Freeman was sharp today, very good command and focus. Better grasp on the offense after 1 year, so more focus on details.

Spence said he went full speed and Zuttah took offense to it. "I wasn't going to back down," Spence said.

Sounds like Spence and Zuttah got after it. Although he shouldn't be going full speed right now, I'm starting to like Spence already Laughing

Adrian Clayborn among the injured guys back on the field. Some others like Joseph, Nicks and obv Revis coming along slower

Great to hear that Clayborn is already practicing.
