Let's stick to the issues before us... Namely, should Rat be a June 1st cut? |
Nice call.
And, yes Rat should be sent down the road. _________________

Going to be an interesting off-season, that's for sure. Lots of new faces next year. _________________

Depends on the 2014 Cap number but its projected to jump quite a bit
Either way we can cut him prior to June 1 and save 1m and then borrow 3m from next year or save 5m this year and eat nearly 5m in 14 _________________

Yep, I dare say this may very well be the most important off season Dallas has faced in a long time. _________________

I would disagree. 44-6 was the most important offseason in many, many years. That team appeared to have completely quit and didn't have the talent to be competitive for many years to come.
This team has good pieces on the edge on both sides of the ball. If the GM can fix the Oline and Dline this team can be very competitive. _________________

Disagree. This Cowboys organization is completely different. WP and JG have nowhere near the same philosophy. _________________

I find it very interesting that this organization is "completely different" when the only change is a HC who had no power or authority to change anything. I hope you are right. _________________

Updated Salary Cap Spreadsheet
Cap is $137,662,521.00 Currently going into 2013 including all players on IR, Dead Money, and Active contracts. McCray is not included as he has yet to be tendered. I show 45 players currently under contract - let me know if I missed something _________________

Does it really only save $1M against the cap to dump Ratliff? If so, can someone articulate why it's a near certainty he's gone? _________________

He's not. I doubt he is gone at all. People think we will cut him because he and Jones got in an argument. _________________

It's not just that. Issues with health, a decline in performance, a lack of leadership are all reasons I've been hearing that could lead to his release. _________________

I don't buy it - the one million we save has to go to replacing him and that - at best - will cost 640k. Are we really saying that Rat isn't worth 360k? _________________
