Random, why do you say that?
Of that's the case then not only do we need to be awarded our 5 million back, but also 1.6 million extra (which ever team received as a result) needs to be added as well. |
So, the year the Cowboys and Redskins eliminate the Giants from the Playoffs, Mara is going to have a change of heart? And, tell 28 other teams that they have to give cap space back?
Yeah, I think it's real possibility myself.
I also think he will trade us JPP for Doug Free straight up. _________________ Quote from May 7, 2013...

Slam, Two points. (And they are minor ones).
Danny McCray is a RFA. So he should not be one of the 44.
Moore signed a two year deal (per KFFL) and I believe it is slightly above the vet min. _________________

I was wondering when someone was going to notice I said that. He might listen to Jerry now once hes informed that he about to be cut. _________________

I've identified both of them as RFAs and included them because I think they will be tendered. Ultimately, they may not make the team after training camp, but I don't think that will stop the cowboys from giving them a FA tender. Spotrac has Moore as a RFA next year. I have not see anything that says he is under contract for next year.
Regardless, if you'd like to play around with the numbers by cutting certain players (and I hope everyone does)... feel free to not tender either of them. I doubt McCray makes the final roster next year but I still think he gets tendered as the Cowboys have invested a lot of time in McCray.
So, who is going to be the first to create a scenario to get the Boys under the cap. I've been working on a couple. One is really extreme and one is fairly vanilla. _________________ Quote from May 7, 2013...

When has Dallas had salary cap issues outside of this year? Which could be attributed to the bogus $5M penalty. To my knowledge, they have been in good standing for a long time running... |
Wizard the problem is they had to restructure last off season to sign all the guys they did. Those restructures are problems down the road. It will be in 2013 and 2014. It limits your ability to relases players who are underperforming. I am not a fan at all of the the restructured contracts.
Regarding the 5 mil hit....Wiz I am not a Jerry fan but this year more than any other year I wanted Dallas to win the bowl because of that bogus bs by Mara. Here is what I wanted Jerry to do if Dallas won.
When the commish would go to hand the Lombardi to Jerry , Jerry just kindly drops it on the floor and unveils a gold bust of himself, holds it in the air and declares it "the Jerry" and walks off the stage.... _________________ A circle. The direction the Cowboys continue to travel. |

First, great work Slam!
Second -
| The_Slamman wrote: | | Because Doug Free restructured his contract this year... it would cost the Cowboys $8.35M in dead money to cut free before June 1st. However, this would result in saving $2,825,000 off the cap next year and $12M off the 2014 cap. |
He needs to be cut then. Freeing (pun intended) nearly 10% of next years cap up is a no brainier. Need to replace him in the draft. _________________

We can cut Scandrick and Connor pretty easily from a cap perspective, right? I thought I remember reading that.
Extend Romo
Restructure Carr
Cut Free, Scandrick and Connor
All seem like pretty solid moves, just glancing over the list. _________________

No I just think the Cowboys and Redskins will fight the penalty harder this year, and it will be dropped. Maybe not by want, but necessity. _________________

With Jenkins gone I don't see why we would cut Scandrick _________________

It wasn't KFFL, I was mistaken. It was roto that has it as a two year deal.
And I was under the impression that we had 44 under lock and key for next year - not including RFA, which is why I was confused by the McCray placement.
But like I said these are minor sticking points. This seems close enough to what I was working on. _________________
