LMAO I remember a meme that made fun of the font that metal bands use for their name and that maryland flyer reminded me of it.
This is one of my friends band. My friends are the vocalist and bassist. I was at this show.

| Love the ESPN front page poll on whether the Bears should have fired Lovie Smith. 49 states are red (in opposition to Smith being fired) and Illinois is blue. |

MDF flyers look like this
They don't use the band logos anymore. _________________

I've only heard of 3 of the bands on that flyer
I really listen to very little metal these days other than the same albums I was into a decade or two ago. I miss the days of festivals where you could catch good hardcore, metal, punk etc bands all in one place (e.g. Hellfest). Though I'm sure you'd probably hate all the metal bands that played at those shows back in those days.
Not sure much will ever top the Clash of the Titans tour back in the early 90's (one of those years when the Patriots were dreadful) at the Orange County Fair in New York. Not a huge fan of Anthrax but seeing Megadeth, Slayer and Alice in Chains together - at the time - was unbelievable. |

Mixing metal and hardcore audiences is a terrible idea. They don't get along at all. At least not in this part of the country. _________________

Good metal bands from MA:
Revocation
Blessed Offal
and, uh... that's it.
We'll be gunning for the top spot once this album is done, but we have no permanent drummer, and one of us is based out of NH and another out of Quebec, so I don't think we'd count regardless. _________________

| Quote: | | we can let you know that Ryan Wendell is the NFL’s leader in playing time for 2012. Wendell started all 16 games at center for the Patriots this year and played a total of 1,231 offensive snaps, and he was also in on 148 special teams plays. That gives him a total for the season of 1,379 plays. |

Dead Congregation (i have an album by then)
Kommandant (who I believe are from the midwest in Indiana or Illinois, one of my friends took me to see a friend of a friend's band out there and Kommandant played that show)
Encoffination (a guy I used to work with always tried to get me into them)
I feel like I've heard of Evoken and Grave Miasma but they're pretty generic names so I'm not sure.

Meh. Both scenes have been pretty terrible for a decade+. The hardcore scene went to crap in the early/mid 2000's and the metal scene (which I never really was into after my teen/early college years) has been full of idiots forever. But you can say the same of punks and hardcore and punk and metal. Every scene is full of a ton of idiots who are convinced they have the perfect taste in music and anything else is worth ridiculing. I still like going to shows (even being one of the 3 or 4 token older guys at a lot of them) but the dynamics of the crowd has changed dramatically over the last 15 years.
Not sure when you first started going to shows, but it's really quite striking comparing the late 80's to the late 90's to the late 00's. There's always plenty of idiots but the degree to which there is infighting and a need to assert musical superiority is off the charts these days. |

I know all about the Bay Area scene. Though I don't really count Possessed anymore, since it's basically one original member [wheelchair guy] cashing in on the reputation the band made for itself in the 80s with a bunch of ringers. _________________

Clockwise from top:
Devour the Unborn, Stages of Decomposition, Splattered, Fall of Man, Embodied Torment, Aborticide, Habitual Defilement
And no, I didn't look any of those up. And I've never actually heard any of those bands [nor do I care to]. _________________
