Offense: The most shocking pick was the Tyler Bray selection in the 4th round. Mike McCoy will want to draft a QB that he likes to compete with Foles and see if he can develop into anything. For now, Foles will be the starter. But if he doesn't show much, Bray could be the long term answer. Whoever is our quarterback will have plenty of weapons to throw to. Quinton Patton is a big receiver with extremely reliable hands. And the addition of James Casey gives us a versatile weapon in the pass game who can give defenses a lot of trouble. We will be a run-first team under McCoy and Wisenhunt, with the pass:run ratio going from 55:45 under Andy to 50:50 now. With the offensive line regaining 3 of it's best players as well as free agent guard Lance Louis, we will be able to pound the ball with our Thunder and Lightning duo of Bryce and Shady as well as keep our quarterback upright. Aboushi and Jackson will be our future anchors at T and G down the line and will provide excellent depth should anybody go down with an injury or if anybody's play regresses due to age (such as Mathis). We will finally have a balanced offense with a coach who excels at utilizing his best players' strengths to the fullest.
Defense: My main goal in this mock was to make our defense into an imposing, physical, punch-you-in-the-mouth defense like Seattle's. This defense is almost completely different than last year's. In free agency, we get the 6'6 325 lb Alan Branch to clog the middle, a 6'5 240 lb SAM backer in Manny Lawson and a physical, run stopping safety in Moore. In the draft, my goal was the same. Our secondary goes from soft to straight up mean. Poyer is arguably the top corner in this draft and probably the most physical one as well. DJ Swearinger is a 6' 210 lb free safety who roams the field making big plays and big hits. Our top pick, Ezekiel Ansah, is a 6'5 270 lb monster with freakish athletic abilities. Ansah can play inside or out up front and has JPP/Chandler Jones potential. The secondary has potential to be one of the best, and our improved pass rush should help even more. Our defense was soft last year and has been since JJ left. With these additions and with Rivera at coordinator, that will change fast. We all of a sudden have a multitude of physical, athletic players who aren't afraid to hit someone in the mouth. _________________

Like free agency - although I didn't run the numbers... I think you need to address tackle earlier in the draft and with a better player than Oday - just my opinion.
That ommission aside - I've certainly seen worse. |

I like it. I love what you did on defense and the offense is a work in progress boosted by 2 pretty good RBs who can help carry the offense in the meantime. All in all pretty good. _________________

Yeah, I think our offense will be fine as long as we keep Foles protected, add a legit WR like Patton, and pound the ball. I didn't go as crazy on offense because McCoy is a genius at utilizing his players' talents to the fullest. We would likely be a run first, pound it in your face team under him. So I decided to follow that up with the building of the defense.....And I want a PHYSICAL MEAN defense, like Seattle's. This offseason would be a GREAT start at building one of those.
The Bray pick may surprise some people, but I think McCoy will take a QB of his liking to compete with Foles or to develop in case Foles doesn't. If Bray is sitting there in the 4th, McCoy would grab him. _________________
