Reid said point blank he chose Kansas City because they're giving him full control. So....no.

but he has the smarts to look at thier roster and say the 3-4 is what is best. He said they have invested time and draft picks into the 3-4 and would be foollish to not stick with that.

He has to be given credit for that considering a lot of people on this fourm did not want anything to do with reid becuase they wouldnt believe he would stick with our defensive plan.

That was not the reason people didn't want Reid. It was a concern but it was not the reason. Damn sure wasn't my reason.

That said, Reid hired his own staff. Said he chose Kansas City because they gave him full power. There's nothing to suggest he wouldn't have whacked our staff here. Nothing at all.

I had no idea what D he would go with. One hopes that any HC with a modicum of common sense looks at this D and says "I sure don't need to fix what ain't broken!". My problem with Reid both for the Cards (& the Bills) is that he has had good running backs yet has mostly been reluctant to commit to the run. IMO, when you have an attacking D like the Cardinals that excels at defending the pass, it makes sense to eat the clock on offense with a running game and then watch your opponent frantically try to catch up/win with a passing attack during the few remaining minutes left. Rinse and repeat.

Bolded: Exactly why I didn't want him. Build a run blocking line, invests a high pick in an elite RB, throws 70% of the time. We just fired a guy like that, why would I want us to turn around and hire another one?

I think everyone's probably heard by now but former Cardinals OC Marc Trestman got the Bears job.

That should be fun watching, if nothing else.

RT @mortreport: Chip Kelly is the new coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, according to league sources. No announcement yet.

Jay Glazer, Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport have all confirmed it, Kelly to the Eagles.

Insane.

Les Bowen‏@LesBowen

I'm hearing Ken Whisenhunt goes to Denver as OC to replace Mike McCoy...

Mary Kay Cabot‏@MaryKayCabot

#Browns were more impressed with Chud's ability to assemble a high-quality coaching staff than Whisenhunt's.

No shocker there.
