Sweet. I'll finish it up then when I get back home. I'm just going off roto numbers. It's just 2013 though. Haven't taken into account roll over cap money and money we are still paying off. Is there anyone we are still paying off? _________________

I've got a great mock, but my dang GF wants to spend the entire day with me. |
I know how that goes......
There's all different ways to find cap money depending on who is off the books and gone. You can add Driver's and Jennings money also as both figure to be gone...unless you already have in that figure.
Out of all of the players gone, not exactly sure Woodson is gone, but would bet a pay cut would be in order for him to return. |

We can do the Nate Silver thing and then average all our calculations together to see what we get. It should be closer than mostly everyones. | Dude must have been absolutely stoked on election day _________________

121M. That's a 400K difference from this year. Enough to sign one UDFA. TT likes.
Also found this interesting.

My numbers are nearly identical. Only difference being that only the top 51 players count against the cap during the offseason.
Little things are the difference. Make sure you are increasing rookie contracts correctly. A lot of contracts are drastically different from year to year.
Also, adjust in the incoming rookies. And dead money coming off the books. _________________

| Thanks for doing this. How do you work out how bonuses apply per year? If Desmond Bishop gets $2 million in roster/workout bonuses etc, how do you know how this is applied each year (or for similar bonuses). Is there a website other than rotoworld that gives the contract information with the extra money added on or do you all work it out yourselves (if so, how do you work it out please)? |

Signing Bonus' are prorated.
Here's where most people don't understand--those workout bonuses, roster bonuses, etc.
The ones deemed "Likely To Be Earned" (LTBE) not to be confused with LGBT. They determine what is LTBE based off the last year in 90% of cases. So if Rodgers has a bonus next year for 30 TD passes, and he has more than 30 TD passes this year, his bonus will count against the cap. Same with roster bonuses--on the team last year? Counts unless they are cut this year.
The 10% that isn't as straight forward--rookies. Some contracts, particularly the high picks, have LTBE count the first year--if their is debate on a LTBE bonus and arbitrator will determine the cap ramifications. Other than the rookies, there are injuries. Tom Brady goes down week 1, no stats for the previous year when they go to apply LTBE bonuses to the cap. An arbitrator may again look and decide on LTBE bonuses and their application to the cap. _________________

Fullback John Kuhn, $2.6 million |

After seeing the numbers a little closer, assuming they are correct, I think we will be pretty hard pressed to sign any free agents (which is not unusually or surprising to me). Also, I have been on thought process that we really can only afford to let one of Jennings or Finley go and not both. However, Finley's number is very enticing to cut and use that money elsewhere. I know we do not have a real replacement for him, but if we cut him we can crank out some extensions and try to find a cheaper replacement. It is probably not going to be someone equivalent to his skill set, but maybe a veteran to bridge the gap or roll with whoever we can get in the draft.
Either way I think it should be interesting to see how TT and Ball handle the situation (two people I think that will do a very good job at it). |

| There's no way we keep woods on on for his number. That would be awful business and our front office doesn't do awful. Saturday is gone. Kuhn isn't worth his contract either. Pickett should be restructured as well. I believe Finley will remain at his contract. Tramon might not be worth his money anymore either. Especially if he's only our third best CB. Kinda some ugly contracts at the top there actually. Lotta fat we could cut. |

agreed.
He's Rodgers' most trusted blitz pick up guy. Rodgers stated he is the most well-versed guy on the playbook (other than Rodgers I'm sure).
He will have a place on this team for awhile yet IMO. |

So we actually gain money by cutting/trading Hawk? That's completely contrary to what I've been reading. _________________

If Williams didn't look so bad to close the year I wouldn't have a problem letting Charles Woodson go. Maybe we can restructure him? _________________

Had a brain fart moment there. All but 2.25M of his deal is guaranteed so we'd basically be paying him to go away, which is what I read elsewhere. _________________
