Slateman. The bottom line is we won't be able to afford Rob Jackson this offseason and we will find a cheaper alternative in the free agency or we will draft a pass rush specialist in the draft at some point. _________________

Sadly agreed. Kids earned a right to get a shot starting somewhere. We're like those good teams now that has to let talent walk. Or like those really good teams that let's talent walk and they can't survive outside our system. Lol _________________

We need to keep Rob Jackson and try and do something with Orakpo. Jackson makes more impact plays and we have shown we can get to the playoffs without Orakpo. Other than getting held by a Dallas tackle a couple years ago I cant think of many meaningful plays he has made other than sacking Jamarcus Russel a few times. Don't get me wrong he is a solid player but Rob Jackson deserves to start in the future with us and not let him go somewhere else. Don't wont to look at this in a couple years like I look at Ryan Clark in Pittsburgh making plays and say man I still wish we had that guy. My wish would be trading Orakpo to Minnesota for Percy Harvin and keep Jackson. The dude is a stud. _________________ In the words of Vince Mcmahon " Theres no chance in hell" Nate Potter or Donald Stephenson are drafted before the 5th round. |

Just because he doesn't fit into the standard package doesn't mean we can't create packages to get Rak/Kerrigan/Jackson on the field at the same time. | oh I agree but I have a feeling someone will pay him and he'll be out of our price range, especially since he's been such a catalyst on our 7 game win streak and on us winning the division. |
True any chance he could move to the middle with how well he has been covering? | I think he could but again, currently we have London Fletcher and Perry Riley in the middle. I think London will be back for at least one more season depending on how far we go in the playoffs I guess. I don't think Rob is going to sign on here to be a back up, If... "IF" he gets starting offers for other teams. |
I would re-sign Jackson and rotate him with Fletcher and Orakpo. It lets him get some experience in the middle and still gives him the ability to play outside. There is probably no way they let Jackson walk... _________________

Trading Rak is just plain silly. Look at it this way. In the last 2 years teams just waited for McNabb or Rex or Beck (last time I ever mention either) to screw up. Now, with RG3, teams have to take chances for the simple facts we average around 10 more points a game and we dont turn the ball over. Whats that lead to kids? Our OLBs can tee off on opposing QBs. If Rak can stay healthy he's a candidate for 15+ sacks next year. _________________

This team needs his pass rushing ability, because without Orakpo's pass rushing ability and Kerrigans together at the same time putting constant pressure on opposing qbs our secondary is greatly exposed as it was in 2010 and this year.
I love Rob's hands and he's a pretty good pass rusher but he's not in Orakpo's class as a pass rusher and that's what this defense needs more.
Also you aren't going to trade Orakpo right now. He will be coming off tearing the same pectoral muscle two years in a row.
We will lose Rob Jackson, but hopefully when we lose him he gets a big contract and we get a compensatory pick coming back to us in return in the 2014 draft. _________________
