I thought keeping Tanny on for his ability to manage the cap was a good thing but now I'm hearing that's it's scaring away some possibilities is not a good thing at all.
Might have to can him all together if it keeps us from getting a good young mind. _________________

| Since he is technically canned from GM position, Jets can interview anyone for GM anytime. He basically is demoted back to his old spot. |

If Tanny is gone, that means Rex is gone as well. Haven't seen many GMs be replaced without a coaching change. _________________

| Good stuff. Good luck trying to find a new GM job after giving Sanchez that contract. |

Already posted in the OC thread, but it fits here as well.
Clinkscales spent 17 years with the Jets, serving most recently as the VP of College Scouting. He helped draft players such as Darrelle Revis, Nick Mangold, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, David Harris, Dustin Keller, Muhammad Wilkerson, Jeremy Kerley, and Quinton Coples. Following this year's draft, he left to become the Director of Player Personnel for the Oakland Raiders. _________________

I knew I'd heard Clinkscales name before when I read that tweet..I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the move tbh. I think there are better options out there, but we may have our hands tied because we're keeping Ryan next year _________________

I really want someone new to be our GM, not someone we had in our office. But if we were to bring someone back or promote, it would be Clinkscales.
George Kokinis wouldn't be a bad one if we plan to keep rex for one more year.
I'm starting to like the idea of someone like Mike Maccagnan(Texans) , John Dorsey (Green Bay), or Scott Fitterer (Seahawks). I like what they have done draft wise over the last few years. _________________

For what it's worth, Kokinis was a puppet here and had no real say, authority or power, and was fired for mysterious reasons. But there are a lot of rumors as to why he was canned. Some of them are kind of spicy.
Allegedly Tony Rizzo of ESPN Cleveland knows the true story but wont say. _________________

Honestly it is pretty impossible for us to say with an certainty who will be a good or a bad GM. None of really knows what goes on in a front office or who is the genius who find these "gems," unless we work in that front office. _________________
