| Is it me, or does Rob Ninkovich look better than Mike Vrabel even though Identical in uniform.. 8 sacks on the year with at least 3 forced fumbles. He makes plays at Defensive End and Outside linebacker quietly. I think he is. Mike Vrabel was more known, the only difference. |

Nink doesn't have the consistency at 4-3 DE, as a 3-4 OLB he is/was very underrated and did the little things well. Everyone is aware of the splash plays, but we are in the very bottom tier of Rush Defense outside of the Tackles for a reason. _________________

As a pass rusher I'd say they're about even.
Vrabel was by far better against the run. _________________

Vrabel was still way better than Ninkovich | Yes, but not for that reason. Ninkovich could easily make the pro bowl this year. He's among the AFC leaders in sacks and is 2nd behind Von Miller in forced fumbles. Those are the kinds of numbers that get you to Hawaii. _________________

7 interceptions are the kind of number that gets you into Hawaii, and we don't have a thread proclaiming Kyle Arrington better than Ty Law. _________________

No way, Vrabel was very versatile. Defensive line, LOLB, ROLB, better tackler, better at setting the edge, and he caught TDs. Ninkovich is a solid piece in the defense, but I'd give him time before comparing him to Vrabel. Besides, Vrabel was usually always productive, who knows if Ninko will have other seasons like this? (I mean, hopefully he will....)
Then again, I'm a huge Vrabel fan, got 4 of his jerseys :X _________________

Well Nink can play OLB in 3-4 and 4-3. I dont remember Vrabel ever playing LB in a 4-3. But he could also play ILB in 3-4 and I dont think nink has.
I think Vrabel is better in every phase of the game except forcing fumbles. I might be overrating Vrabel/underrating Nink's passrushing skill. _________________
