The defense has, as much as I hate to say it, been looking better and better every week IMO (even though we cant get off the field on 3rd down it seems)
Jerry was the joke of the league at the beginning of the year, but this defense actually looks decent out there, especially without our best MLB and no depth at DE. Do you want to keep him for next year? _________________

Don't you mean DE? He's made strides but why in the hell did he wait so long to call these blitzes. Earlier in the season he wasn't doing it. Like I said in the draft thread, we get another good DT to pair with Casey(Marks should not be resigned), get a starting caliber SS, and fix the depth problems at LB and DE, we'll be a top 10 D even with Gray as our DC. _________________

Thanks but no thanks. If he's still around, that means Munch is still around and nobody wins then. _________________

Only thing he is doing differently is stopped being a coward, and started blitzing more than once a game. |

Jerry Grey has shown what? that he can field a semi competitive defenses against mediocre to bad offenses.
next weekend at Green Bay should be a more accurate testament. The world knew Sanchez didn't have a chance against the blitz last night. A.Rod can light you up for 250+ and 3 TDs easy against a blitz. Will Grey stay aggressive and creative? Or will we get ran out of the building like we did earlier this year. _________________

I would say no i dont know were we stand defensivly but we are on pace or was on pace or at som point was historically bad. Last night i wouldnt give Grey the credit of those turnovers McCourty and Griffin made good plays and Sanchez was jus terrible. But never mind this season or last season my gut feeling is where never gonna win with him going forward. My feeling is even if we get a monster DT his scheme will just never get it done and my worry is if the defense struggles again next year we will see him fired mid season an create problems _________________ TITANIA FANTASY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

To be fair a lot of the change has come around with Brown starting. Spoon couldn't fit into the scheme. Plus it took a few games for Brown to really make an impact. |

We also haven't played a string of good/great teams lately. |

On local radio, Jerry said that the turn around came around the Buffalo game...
Said the players responded more to the more aggressive style
Said they changed from trying to see and respond to trying to dictate to the other team and be aggressive
Said moving Ayers to more away from the WILL LB and allowing Brown to get on the field has helped out also.
True test will come against a good offense like Green Bay. _________________ Proud member of the DARK SIDE. I've embraced Mike Murlarkey as my Head Coach.

WOW!!!
The players actually respond to being AGGRESSIVE?! Who'da thunk it? Why the Hell did it take him so long to figure this out? Then again, why the Hell did it take him so long to GET aggressive? _________________ HEALTH STATEMENT: I'm not "fat", just well nutritioned. |
