That would be such a change in culture that Halas Hall might crumble to the ground.
I don't know if his offense is going to work?
I do like that he is an offensive guru, which is what we need.
I would prefer an NFL guy.

I want a complete shake up and this would certainly be it. However, there are definitely questions on if Chip's offense translates to the NFL.

It's certainly an interesting idea. To revamp the offense in such a radical way would almost certainly mean we wouldn't contend for a year or two while we worked to get the pieces in place. But if that's the route we're going to go, then lets go whole hog and get it done. No more half-measures. Let's pick an offensive game-plan and go with it.

I'm gunna bump this post a year from now, I guarantee you change your Opinion. Chip Kelly is among footballs BEST minds, I don't buy into the whole "he won't translate to The NFL" I think he would adjust perfectly to what he's given. Some team will strike gold with him, however, I highly doubt it's Chicago. I'd love it, though.

I agree with MM. The reason his offense works so well in college is the same reason it probably wont in the NFL IMO. He rotates in a TON of subs due to the frenetic pace of play (I remember seeing somewhere he uses some 30+ guys on just offense throughout a game), and NFL teams only usually have about 22 or 23 offensive players active on game day. Kelly's offense also requires an elite running QB. For most NFL teams (the Bears being one of them) the QB isn't an elite runner, and even if a team has one Kelly's offense will lead that player to a far shorter career due to the amount of hits his QBs take, which that player will not like.
Just seems like a college offense to me. A great college offense, but still a college offense.

He subs a bunch on defense not on offense. If he did 20 on offense he'd go down to his 9th-12th string WRs. No offense could run well like that. His offense stays in most the game but he subs some linemen in as needed.

I wonder how different his system is from the up tempo stuff the Patriots are doing?
I understand the exact system would not work, but what about an offensive genius to adapt and create an NFL system.
What would people think about a variation of the Chip Kelly offence?
