Better the devil you know. It's like everybody that was calling for Brett Bielema's head, and how many of them now are asking "Gary Who?" that the Badgers replaced him.
You KNOW what Mason can do/is doing. Bring in Kaeding, et al, and you got NO idea what you're getting into. _________________ Global Warming.....ya....right... |

Gary "who's" team badly out coached the Bret Bielema team this year at Camp Randall and only lost when his FG kicker missed a 37 yarder. Here ii what we do know about Mason Crosby = statistically the worst FG kicker by far in the NFL, he doesn't just miss he misses badly at times. He is excellent on kickoffs and has not missed an extra point. MM has such little confidence in Crosby that he went for a 4th down play in last weeks game that should have been a field goal attempt. He missed 2 very makeable FG's and the first miss looked like a scud missle. This is on a team that is headed for the playoffs and has zero confidence in their kicker. I predict Mason Crosby will not be the Packer kicker come playoff time. His time in Green Bay is ending very soon. He simply sucks. |

Longwell wanted out of Green Bay. He didn't like it here and I have no reason to think he's even WANT the job. _________________

| what moved longwell out of green bay was money. Sweaty Teddy didn't believe in paying a kicker the amount he was looking for at the time. I'll be he'd be happy to come back and make a push for another ring. |

| Would it be unheard of to keep Crosby as a kickoff specialist, and bring in someone like Longwell to kick FG's? I know it would take up a valuable roster spot, but we might be able to to get by. Then you'd have the option of keeping Crosby thru the offseason and into training camp next year. He could get things in order by then. I do know though that I would not trust him at all to make a big kick right now. I don't see how he can counted on. |

Incorrect. He hated Green Bay as a city. Hated being here, not all that fond of kicking outdoors, and he doesn't have the leg to do kickoffs or even handle any more than extra points anymore. _________________

| I don't want my team going into the playoffs knowing they have to go for it on fourth down because their kicker sucks right now. |

its was about the money with Longwell. |
Part of it sure. Part of it was also his wimpy leg on both FGs and KOs, and part of it was him not really wanting to be here either. Money is always a factor, but it was far from the only factor. _________________

Confidence is everything to a kicker.
Its gone, and its not something that normally comes back. Even if he starts to go on a roll its always going to be there in his mind, and the next time he misses the panic will begin to come back again.
Everyone remembers Mike Vanderjact and how quickly he went from being automatic to completely useless. _________________

He keeps wanting to believe that Mason will get it back but i don't see it. Kicker live and die by their confidence and Mason has none. It's not something that comes back. Not for a kicker. _________________
