Hard to see a win here. It all goes back to that Tampa game. Next week the Packers might not be playing for anything. I think we'll fall one short out of the playoffs. _________________ Equal Opportunity Hater

AP vs JJ Watt...in a week where the Mayans said the world would end.
If these two meet in the hole head on, the world very well COULD end. Don't think there is enough in place to ensure that the universe doesn't implode upon impact.
I have some real estate out in the Andromeda system. Might be in my best interest to watch the game from there. _________________

We don't have much choice, we have to win. One thing that we have going for us is that what we do well, we do well against everyone. If we can get a couple turnovers we've got a chance.
And maybe the Texans will be feeling good about themselves since they have a 2 game lead on HF advantage with 2 games left. They won't sit anybody, but maybe they won't play with same edge. |

the really good teams don't do that. their coaches don't let them. _________________

Gary Kubiak, on resting any players down the stretch: “Absolutely not. We’ve got a game. We’ve got to keep going.” _________________

I don't get why a reporter would even ask about resting players the Texans haven't clinched homefield yet. There's simply no point for Houston to sit players yet. _________________

Well, I've seen plenty of teams with similar records do it. Maybe Houston is too good for it, we'll find out. |

Houston clinches HFA with a win.
It's difficult to imagine them not being up for this game, but any thing can happen of course.

Oh, the story lines to this game . . . Adrian - Arian . . . JJ Watt against everyone . . . Smith & Robinson on Johnson . . . and Blair Walsh
I've been thinking about how this game would most likely unravel, and I have no idea. The Texans certainly have the talent to complete demolish the Vikings, but just like every NFL team, they can have a bad day.
One thing I hope the Texans do -- keep stacking that box! I said it 3 or 4 weeks ago, when a team puts 8 or 9 in the box, with the way the Vikes block, and Adrian makes 1 guy miss, he's gone. Yesterday, it demoralized the Rams and the same thing will happen to every team from now through the SuperBowl if Adrian does that time and time again.
Of course, they can pick their poison . . . have a safety shadow Adrian, so he has a chance to tackle him 8 or 9 yards downfield, or put that safety in the box and see how well that works all game, except for 3 or 4 plays.
The thing I'm most concerned about is getting into a shoot-out with the Texans as they have more firepower at WR . . . Can the Vikes shut down Andre'? Well, I suspect they'll figure something out since they play a couple other teams with good receivers twice a year. Defensively, the Vikes need to crush Schaub . . . but he's not fragile mentally, so forcing him into turnovers will be a tough task. Lastly, the need to stop Arian Foster, and that's a tough task too.
As has been mentioned, I think the Texans might let their guard down a bit this week, having wrapped-up a 1st round bye, but more importantly, the Vikes coaches and players need to plan and execute like last week -- only better. |

Looks like we are likely to see D'Aundre Reed be up for the game and get some snaps. _________________

He's eligible to. I'll bet Leslie will address this in his press conference today. _________________
