Sherrod really hasn't played that bad this year. He's made some good plays, which is more than we can say for Nakamura or Norman.
Sherrod sucked last year and that's how this whole Nakumara thing even happened, but he definitely played better this year and I think they waited too long this season to get him back out there. Some guys don't adjust as well to a new system, and he definitely seemed more comfortable in it this year.

Martin definitely looked better than last year (and better than Nakamura), but he's still definitely not someone you want to go into a season trusting as your starter.
