If we win out Andy stays.
^Own speculation.
I honestly think Jeff is waiting to see how Foles plays. He might give Andy one last hoorah with Nick and to get his line healthy. _________________

Lurie can't tell the fanbase that another 8-8 seasonal is unacceptable and then keep andy. _________________

IMO the injury excuse gets negated by his poor roster management (lack of depth, undersized non-physical players across the board) and bad coaching decisions (firing Juan instead of Washburn or Marty in the first place, no commitment to the run when we need it, misusing of personnel). _________________

If Lurie decides to go foward with Reid he proves that his wife got his balls in the divorce.
He said 8-8 isn't good enough, well we can't even finish 8-8 so Reid needs to be gone.
I want Dennison as the next head coach, but wouldn't mind Mike McCoy either. _________________

You're borderline obsessed with Dennison.
My question would be this:
Dennison is 52 and he's been in the NFL since 1982. He's been in very good situations under Mike Shanahan and Gary Kubiak in Denver and Houston. Why has a guy whose been in the NFL in some capacity for 22 years and been in good situations never gotten a shot as a head coach? And we're quick to credit him but Gary Kubiak calls the plays for the Texans. _________________

I bolder my favorites form each category, I'm also a fan of Rick Dennison, and Josh McDaniels and if Whisenhunt gets fired I also like him. |

If Foles looks great and we win out...I agree with Phire that its not impossible that Andy would be back. His son's death and injuries would be the excuse.
One thing I'll say in Andy's defense is he seems to be admitting his mistakes for once, not with phony words in a PC....but in actions. He is ditching people that he made a mistake on. And that is not something we are used to seeing.
If a humbled Andy comes back.....and Lurie finally gets involved and at least tells him he needs to hire like a Ron Rivera...amongst other moves.........there are worse things that could happen.
Andy is still a good coach, I think he needs & will go....but I can see a scenario where he stays. _________________

We have had 8 Starters injured on offense alone throughout the season most of which have missed if not the entire season almost half. Seriously think about that scenario for a second in regards to another team. 8 of 11! Peters, Kelce, Vick, Desean, Herremans, Watkins, McCoy and now Celek. They have played a total of 15 Rookies this season many as their replacements. You add Garretts death and a possible 4 game win streak to end the season to go 7-9 only 1/2 games from the Division title? You bet your tail what Lurie said in his PC will be evaluated considering the circumstances. Better hope for another two/three loses to make sure I'm telling you. |
Nabbs, I appreciate the opposing view point but your posting about the coaching issue is eerily similar to your posting about our QB issue a few years back. |
Just pointing out a possibility you all want to ignore. Lurie can do what ever the Hell he wants including revising his previous statement about 8-8. Your going to tell me (take hatred of AR out of the equation) "IF" they finish with a 7-9 record with only 3 offensive starters playing the entire season and McCoy, Vick , Herremans and Desean missed 1/2 the season, while Peters and Kelce missed basically the entire. They couldn't have made up two extra games and the NFCE title? Give me a break. That "could" be the thinking Lurie has. I'm not saying Reid will be back but that it would not surprise me in the least if he is with all of the above occurring. Obviously 7-9 (4 gm win streak with 2nd team offense) looks better then 4-12. All of you barking at the moon saying Lurie has to because of the 8-8 comment aren't taking in the factors that led to this record, his relationship with AR or the fact Lurie can do whatever he please's as owner. _________________

HC: Chip Kelly or Spags
OC: Mike McCoy
DC: Gus Bradley
