2. Word is the Chiefs are trading for Alex Smith and drafting Joeckel #1... Jacksonville has publicly backed Gabbert, Oakland has Palmer grooming Pryor, Eagles have two starters, Lions have Stafford and the Brown are listening to offers for Weeden. If the Browns pass on Geno Smith he is ours for the taking. Do we pull the trigger? |
Not sure, from listening between the lines from all the interviews with kiem and BA there isnt a qb they would take in the first.
Everyone keeps saying none of these guys are day one ready, and kiem said if you draft a qb in the first he need s to start.
I hope someone tajes geno before us or the bills trade up, I just see the blaine gabbert nonse all over again _________________ Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.

Lots of talk from Detroit really wanting Fisher at #5. As of now I'd go:
1.) Kansas City - Luke Joeckel (lock)
2.) Jacksonville - Sharrif Floyd (20 years old & physical freak, Jags have horrible run D)
3.) Oakland - Dee Milliner (BPA and the Raider like dat speed)
4.) Philadelphia - Dion Jordan (Breakout combine & played for Chip)
5.) Detroit - Eric Fisher (Elite pass-protector for Stafford)
6.) Cleveland - Geno Smith (Weeden sucks they need a talent boost at QB)
7.) Arizona - Chance Warmack (Big need, plug him in there for a decade)
I would take Geno but he won't get to us IMO... _________________

The more i think about it, the more i see philly taking Fisher and Detroit taking Warmack.
That leaves us Jordan.
As Cleveland or Oakland with take Geno and KC takes Joeckel.
How does that sit with everyone?
Not ideal, but a decent fall back choice. |

Detroit is #1 in passing attempts I don't think a run-grader gives them the best value at 5. I'm think Fisher or Milliner for the Lions. _________________

Where are they picking because of that?
Their running game is only just better than ours.
Warmack makes them a more complete team, more balanced anyway.
Warmack holds value, especially if Miliner is gone by then. |

Some may think this doesn't alter the 1-6 ahead of us but..
Chiefs did indeed tag B. Albert and while they could still pick OT #1 overall..
I feel like if Star checks out health-wise that he'll be their pick #1. _________________

Arent they sticking to 3-4?
Where does he play then, they have Dorsey, Jackson and Poe already
Or are they moving to 4-3? in case, where does he play, as the above can move into those spots too |

Dorsey is a free agent and Jackson has a bloated contract and does not even come close to that type of cap figure.
Poe from all accounts is not the answer (still developing) and they need an impact player. _________________

Star is overrated and his injury issues... 0% he goes #1. I still think it's Joeckel and Albert moving to the right side. KC will make the playoffs next season. _________________

Albert is saying he aint moving. Joekcel at RT is an interesting choice.
Another DL is like Detriot with WR, when is enough enough? |

Eric Winston may not be Andy Reid's guy but he is a good tackle and is locked up. With Albert staying, playing Joekel at RT makes no sense, whether or not Winston is there. That would have to be the first time someone used the #1 overall on a RIGHT tackle. Not happening.
So unless Albert will play left guard, which I don't see happening, I can't see the Chiefs taking Luke for LT. _________________

| I think the Chiefs are gonna be aiming hard for a trade down. They could possibly pick up a 2nd pick after losing one this year due to the Alex Smith trade. They probably won't get anything close to the standard value though. |

Since he can't be cut I'm guessing they'll try to trade Albert. If they stick with both tackles I can see them taking a freak like Ansah based on athleticism & ceiling alone. _________________

He was released today. KC is taking Joeckel whether Albert likes it or not. Jacksonville is on the clock... _________________
