Really like this. I have no attachment to Gamble, so I don't need to care for the Jets. He's in the AFC, so I don't have to worry about this move haunting us in-conference (or worse - in-division). And - the Jets already have a staff in place, so he shouldn't raid our coaching staff, just our roster leftovers, which if they're leftover clearly means we don't want (and I'm talking about training camp-cut guys as an FYI). |
We'll steal some coaches. Tony Sparano and likely Mike Pettine are gone. We may go internal for the DC position, but I expect Geep Chryst to be hired as OC. |
That would suck. Why don't you take Tim Drevno instead? We have a million OL coaches anyway. _________________

It's not because they have draft picks, it's the situation. Alex Smith handled his entire career in San Francisco with class. In this particular one, he could've been a locker room distraction, but he kept quiet and professional. That's not to be dangled like a Trade Chip, it's to eventually hit Free Agency.
Look- Smith's almost fired Tom Condon last offseason. He basically drew the line in the sand and it was about self-respect. He said to Condon- If you let Peyton Manning sign here, I'm getting a New Agent.
Tom Condon, Ben Dogra, & Creative Artists Agency (CAA) dominantes your team. And to a large extent, your personnel decisions are at their mercy. Oh, and they sell your Naming Rights. Pretty good situation to be in. Sure you'll have to depart with Alex Smith & Dashon Goldson- but when that new stadium opens you'll have some unknown MARKETABLE Star. They're selling your naming rights after all. |
You got the connects sir. And you can see the future.
Also your sig isn't looking too good.
None of us know what happened with the whole Peyton thing. _________________ ***WE RUN THE WEST!***

Hold the phone on Gamble fellas, I just read from Glazer that the Browns requested to interview him. As we remember with the Harbaugh process it's never done until they announce it. _________________ San Francisco 49ers 2013 Retirement Tour;

why do you follow that trash site? They are such a joke. I used to post there but they are horrible and basically bullied all of their members away. That site is a shell of it's former self. They used to be really good. Now only like 10 people post there all the time. /rant. _________________

Quick question, was Gamble on staff when we drafted Alex? If so and he still believes in Alex... Jets need a new QB, as we know Alex is a good QB, you just cant really have two on the field at the same time but maybe we resign Alex and trade him to a team who will ask him to do many of the same things we asked him to do here... it could work. _________________
Thanks y2 for the sig - and it has nothing to do with the trash who wore number 32 (I had to look it up, he will stay unnamed). |

There's no way they get a different QB. They have to ride that mistake out. _________________

I don't think so. Sanchez is due pretty much the same as Alex. 8.25 mil. The problem with getting rid of Sanchez, it's that the cap penalty associated with cutting him could possibly be higher than his actual cap hit.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-on-football/21333356/mark-sanchezs-contract-makes-it-almost-impossible-for-jets-to-cut-him
And burlow... this isn't he NBA. There are no sign-and-trades in the NFL. It makes more sense from a GM's perspective to trade-and-sign. The only two possibilities are trading Alex with his current contract or releasing him. Alex is not going to the Jets, that would be irresponsible of them, financially. _________________

Post-superbowl-loss stress disorder. Totally normal. It's a condition described as "a really really long freakin' hangover".
Anyways, it was discussed in the other coach thread.
