And no, this is not mainly about Favre and Warner. I don't know where you're getting that from, but that's not even close to true. It is about the entire pay for performance/pay to injure program. _________________

First off: I think we've all been fairly cordial towards you in discussing this matter. Passive aggressive insults such as "You're a genius" demeans the discussion as a whole, and is not what we're looking for on this site.
Second: Favre and Warner were the prolific examples of this, but to assume that this whole investigation was based around two players is completely asinine. This scandal went beyond the attempts to injure these two players. As iPwn provided, we have a crystal clear example of how this system operated. Trying to discount it because it doesn't specifically mention two of the 1,696 active NFL players at any given moment doesn't discredit what has been displayed for your information. _________________

Please show where in that ledger you posted that they specifically targeted McKenzie before the game. Oh wait, you cant.

So? And where's the talk about P. Manning? So they suddenly stopped after getting to the SB?
Ludicrous. |
Please just use some logic and common sense. _________________

John Wilkes Booth was innocent. Lincoln didn't die until AFTER he left the theater. _________________

While the timing is interesting, it sounds as if this is par for the course. I'd imagine that there would be some protocol in place to accept someone back into the NFL following a suspension. Regardless of who was suspended, or why someone was suspended - it isn't like they just walk back into the facilities and say "I'm back, suckas!" it's accompanied by a code of conduct to be followed upon reinstatement.
Unlike a PED suspension or a DUI suspension, this one doesn't have a drug test to administer, or any MADD-esque volunteer work. There has to be something to establish some sort of check and balance, and I think that is what is going on here.
Now, if Payton is reinstated THIS season, I will see more smoke to this fire. _________________

 | I think its more about getting him set up to begin contract talks so that Jerry doesn't swoop in before Benson gets the chance to pay the man. Assuming the saints don't make the playoffs (a pretty fair assumption) then Payton becomes the immediate target for JJ as soon as the season is over. Payton has done everything the NFL asked of him so I have no problem w/ them ending his suspension once the Saints season is over. _________________

No one expected him to throw his protege under the bus. He's on the NFL payroll, after all. _________________

Jerrah would still have to wait until after the Super Bowl regardless; that's when Payton becomes a FA. The Saints can have discussions whenever, but Payton is holding off on signing for now. Who knows why. That's my understanding, at least. _________________

If Payton was not reinstated until after the SuperBowl he would become an immediate FA and there would be no bargaining position for Benson as JJ is almost assuredly going to offer more money than Benson can afford to. _________________
