Because the Jets WR corps is awful and has nobody right now. |

Holmes, Hill, Gates, and Keller are all out. Chaz Schilens has arguably been our healthiest receiver this season. CONTEMPLATE THAT. |

The Jets are ravaged with injuries at the WR position and Braylon worked great with Sanchez. |
I understand that. But at this point in the season, what's it going to accomplish? Why not bring up some PS guys or younger guys and start preparing for next season?
This move is like a man on the cusp of death deciding to start eating healthier. |
Well... the Jets ARE 6-7. In the AFC, that's good enough to still be in the playoff hunt. So I'm guessing they want to see if they can salvage their season. According to PlayoffStatus.com, the Jets have a 38% chance to make the playoffs if they win-out:

We have done that. Mardy Gilyard is our #3 receiver... _________________

I personally see all their games as losable. @Tennessee and @Buffalo aren't to be under-estimated, even if they are games the Jets "should" win. _________________ With much cheese,

True, although the Jets haven't lost a non-divisional game to a team with a losing record since 2009. _________________

I was surprised they didn't sign him earlier and I'm surprised they didn't bring in burress before the steelers signed him.
This offense wasn't great to begin with, but when the injuries started piling up for the wrs, I expected those signings by Tane and Rex immediately.
Both Tane and Rex are fighting for their jobs right now _________________

He was really just trying to defend his friend. Shouldn't have said that, but it's good to see that someone has faith in Mark. _________________

It's official: I'm told the Jets did, in fact, put in a waiver claim for Braylon Edwards and got him. He's officially a Jet. #nyj |

To be fair, he was trying to defend his friend. I'm not going to try and say what he said was smart, but it's not a big deal.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't take stuff like that personally. It'd be different if Edwards had a history of talking bad about the Jets or if he was more persistent in his talk. I think it kind of speaks to the maturity of the organization to not let something petty like that stop them from potentially helping their football team.
I'll say this, though, the only thing he said that was wrong is Sanchez would be a beast
In a year when Sanchez has a different receiving corps seemingly every week, they probably just wanted to bring in someone who they know he's comfortable with. It's better than bringing in Jason Hill or Marty Gilyard... |
