The more games I watch .. The more apparent it is that the dolphins are lacking weapons.. Hartline is solid but nothing more.. He is not a playmaker.
Bess makes the catch 95 % of the time but does nothin after the catch...
What weapons do you see or want the dolphins picking up ? _________________

Hartline and Bess I think are keepers. But in today's NFL, we need two more WRs in order to have a complete unit. The main thing we're missing is a true vertical threat. Brandon Marshall was that guy, we desperately need a replacement for him.
We could also use a speedster, someone who can burn defenses. Or heck - I'd take another "solid" player like Hartline. We need depth more than anything. _________________ With much cheese,

we really need to go after wallace or jones. Need someone that can go downfield. I'd be calling pitt and seeing how much interest they have in jake long and see what it would take to get wallace from them. _________________

Id do that trade. Martin had a rough start today against Smith but he still looked decent and got better as the day went on. I think we have our replacement for Long. _________________

Martin will also get better because he will take advantage of a offseason in the weight room.. It will make him stronger against the bull rush.. _________________

We definitely need weapons on this offense. I could honestly see Greg Jennings or Mike Wallace in a fins uniform next year. I also think we need a TE like Keller. I also wouldn't mind a guy like Rashard Mendenhall who can make some plays. With Dwyer and Redman showing strides I think they may let Mendenhall walk. _________________

Mike Wallace is my #1 target. #2 is a 1st round WR. #3 is a TE. Really hoping Egnew could be that pass catching TE we desperately need. Season is over get him some playing time ASAP to see what we have. _________________

We will see but here is a draft scouting report on Jonathan Martin. Let me know if this is what we are seeing...
Report Prepared: February 12, 2012
Martin is an interesting prospect who displays elite athleticism. He hails from a pro-style offense and is a punishing run blocker. Martin uses his speed, leverage and football IQ to provide explosion when pulling to lead outside runs. He shows the capacity to win at the point of attack on a regular basis, and has a lot of upside at the next level.
Martin is considered by some to be raw, but much of his technique problems are fixable. His biggest issue will come from his lack of elite strength (due to an underdeveloped lower body) and the ability for pass rushers to fool him on double moves. Martin tends to overcommit at times, falling for swim moves and letting his man beat him.
Overall, Jonathan Martin is a clear first round pick, and not as raw as many pundits paint him to be, but he could fall into the "great athlete, bad tackle" malaise and underachieve at the next level without some improvement in his anticipation. Martin is a good player though, and his pro-style pedigree should serve him well in his transition to the NFL.
Compares to (Current NFL Player): Nate Solder
Strengths
- Intelligent
- Athletic enough for NFL
- Equally adept as run and pass blocker
- Gets out of stance quickly and able to keep pass rushers at bay
Weaknesses
- Can get pushed back in pass game by power moves
- Not a bulky offensive lineman
- Footwork is questionable
- Sometimes commits too early on pass rush plays: can be fooled by stunts _________________ "Yesterday Is History, Tomorrow Is A Mystery, And Today Is A Gift. That Is Why It Is Called The Present.""

It will be nice to have an off season where the coach and the QB are not the #1 & #2 concerns on the team.
The A list:
#1- Issue is a Number one and two reciever to go with Bess and Hartline.
#2- At least 2 playmakers in the secondary.
#3- Some upgrades on both lines.
#4 -An all-Pro TE
The B list;
#1-A ground pounding RB (to go with Thomas and Miller)
#2-An All-Pro middle linebacker that can shut down the middle of the field |
