I dont know how to post links so maybe someone can help me out with that. But has any one else seen this article on yard barker. It says joe banner is not sold on weeden and hes a huge fan of vick and will go after him if/when he is available. This is a terrible idea. Thoughts?

| Quote: | Former Eagles president Joe Banner has replaced Holmgren and, according to Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole, Banner "is, at best, lukewarm on the prospects of 29-year-old rookie starter Brandon Weeden developing into a star quarterback."
Cole adds that Banner is a Michael Vick fan and notes Cleveland could be one of five teams interested in Vick if he and the Eagles part ways this offseason. |

Yeah I read it and hate it. I can get over it if he moves on from Weeden, but if he brings in Michael Vick I will never forgive him for it. I would go as far as not buying tickets next year. I know I only go to 2 home games but at this point I'm tired of the losing and a move like Vick is not an effort to win. A move like that is a move to sell some tickets to the causual fan and sell some jerseys.
Michael Vick has been a terrible passer ever since he came into the league and at this point is getting worse because defenses have figured him out for the most part. Its not hard to do when the guy cannot read a blitz or coverage to save his life. The guys football IQ is border line pathetic and he can not longer make up for it with electric athletic ability.
I have not read one thing about Joe Banner than gives me any hope. Everything I have read leads me to beleive this guys ego is going to get in the way of winning because he wants final say on everything. I guess lets all hope what I am reading is wrong. If not then we can expect another decade of suck. _________________

When Vick was first coming back from Jail I wanted us to go after him. I want no part of him.
Even before this I was worried Banner might be a Vick fan.
Hope this is not true. _________________

I would have to sneak off and watch the Browns, the wife isn't a fan of Vick...at all. Neither am I.
It wouldn't really be moving forward by getting a 33 year old injury prone QB who's best asset is his mobility. I don't think it would happen. |

| Seriously, this team would be dead to me if this happened - and I've been following them religiously since 1982. |

I'd take Weeden 10/10 times over Vick. Dumbest thing I've ever read. _________________ Trent Richardson please!!! |

| I wouldn't mind Vick in a Seneca role. Then again I like McCoy too as a backup. Yahoo sports can reach a lot sometimes. |

| Is this Haslam's team or Banner's? If Banner goes unchecked he could very well set the team back another five years. |

In all fairness, I can't blame Banner on not 'being sold Weeden can be a star QB". Who is? Seriously? Who's ready to say Weeden can be that guy?
I like Weeden as much as anyone, but we certainly haven't seen enough to make that statement.
As to the rest, we'll see.
At this point I think Banner's vagueness has led to reporters running wild with rumors.
At least I hope that's the case. _________________

Its not the fact he is not sold on Weeden. It seems that Banner doesn't even want to give him a chance. Seriously 16 games is not nearly enough time to judge a QB. It is also the fact that they are saying he wants Michael Vick who hasn't proven anything as a passer his entire career. _________________
