30-50 degrees ... on the face of it, that sounds bad, but so soon after surgery that's actually pretty solid. |

RG3: “I think you will see a different version of me. ...ou wont see the same Robert Griffin. You’ll see a better Robert Griffin.”
http://m.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2013/02/02/robert-griffin-iii-wins-nfl-rookie-of-the-year-says-knee-rehabilitation-is-ahead-of-schedule/
Rg3 claims he's ahead of schedule on his recovery from surgery on his Acl and LCL.
@TarikCSN: RG3's on his knee: "It’s feeling good." Story about his recovery here: http://t.co/LB9aHSZP #RedskinsTalk
| Quote: | “It’s feeling good,” Griffin said in his first public comments since the surgery to repair the ACL and LCL in his right knee last month. “I went through the toughest part already. So now it’s about being smart. Not pushing it too much. That’s what the doctors are there for, to keep me from doing too much.”
“I was ahead when I did it in 2009,” Griffin said, referring to the ACL surgery performed on the same knee while he played at Baylor. “And I’m a little bit ahead right now as well, as you guys can see. I have to be smart about it and think long term, not short term.”
“The good thing is this is offseason and I can get healthy,” he added. “I have enough time.”
“It helps me a lot because I know what peaks and valleys there are going to be, what milestones I need to hit and when I need to hit them and giving me the confidence to know that I can come back better than I was before,” he said. |

According to CSN Washington:
Our own Chick Hernandez, tweeted:
Sources tell me RGIII rehab going well. Docs cleared him 2 travel. RGIII will be @NewOrleans 2morrow nite to take part in NFL awards show.
Here is an update from Chick at 4:15 p.m.:
Rehab going well for @rgiii He’s up & walking. Will be in New Orleans tomorrow night. Finalist for NFL Offensive ROY
Chick could not confirm whether or not Griffin III would be on crutches.
So, is he walking without assistance? What will be the degree or his mobility?
Does this mean he is going to nab the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award? Those questions and more will be answered Saturday night.
I read that rg3 won't be on crutches

Morning Pixels: RGIII says he’ll keep himself safe:
http://t.co/3lbnLi7n
| Quote: | “I mean, everyone's got an opinion,” RGIII told Larry Michael on Saturday, after winning the NFL’s offensive rookie of the year award. “And you don't ever shoot down those opinions, because everyone has a valid point when it comes to those things. But for me, hindsight is 20-20. There's a few things in that [playoff] game that we wish we had done differently, and I'll talk to coach about that when I get back. We'll have that conversation. It's a conversation that needs to be had. But at the end of the day, the most frustrating part was the fact that we lost the game, and I think that's why everybody's upset.”
“My dad told me I'm already far ahead [of schedule], so if I feel something in my knee, just stop,” Griffin continued. “It's just about being ready for Week 1. And going back to the criticism, a lot of people criticize; some of them actually DO care about my health. And that's something that I took pride in after I had the concussion at Atlanta and a few other injuries. So I'll do my part to make sure that I stay healthy and keep myself out of harm's way while at the same time making sure the coaches do the same.” |
Sounds good Robert. I have faith in you. I believe you and the coaches will take the necessary steps to keep you safe and on our team for the next decade +. _________________

http://www.csnwashington.com/football-washington-redskins/talk/allen-says-griffin-progressing-well
Bruce Allen says Rg3 is progressing well.
Allen said Rg3 is ahead of schedule in rehab.
| Quote: | Allen, however, stopped short of confirming an ESPN report that said team officials believe Griffin has “a legitimate chance” of starting on opening day.
“He’s progressing well,” Allen said. “It’s not one of those things where we’re going to be able to update you every week. He’s on schedule, or ahead of schedule, and it’s really because of the work ethic that you know he has.”
Asked to specifically address the ESPN report, Allen would only say that doctors will ultimately decide when Griffin returns to the lineup.
“We’re going to let the doctors worry about where they are,” Allen said. “I know Dr. Andrews was hopeful after the surgery. We’ll see how it progresses. But this will be an ongoing thing throughout the summer.” |
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/nfl-rapidreports/21702118/report-rg3-has-legitimate-shot-of-starting-opening-day-
Adam Schefter reports that his sources tell him that Rg3 has a legitimate shot of starting opening day. It's not really much news other than Adam Schefter made it a huge deal yesterday and the local media ran with it.
Now, what exactly does legitimate mean. That's anyones guess, I guess it means a good shot at starting? We all know he has a good shot at starting opening day.
Also, reports are that he is ahead of schedule in his rehab.
Let's just hope they take their time, do things that he needs to do but don't overdue the rehab.
I still think they should put him on the physically unable to perform (PUP)list at the begining of training camp and he shouldn't come off it until he really is ready. There is no point in forcing the issue here and having a set back, just like despite fighting for the playoffs last year and being in them, there wasn't a point in jeopardizing RG3's future. _________________

RG3 is back in town
| Quote: | On Friday night he was at Constitution Hall to see comedian Mike Epps. Then on Saturday he went to the Verizon Center to see Disney on Ice. There, he drew the “RG3, RG3, RG3” chants that have become part of the scene whenever the quarterback appears at public events.
Some are taking this as evidence that Griffin is ahead of schedule in his knee rehab. It was originally thought that he would spend six to seven weeks at Dr. James Andrews’ facility in Pensacola. Since he is back early (on Wednesday it will be six weeks since the surgery) that must mean he’s doing better than expected, right?
Not necessarily. About the most positive interpretation would be that Griffin hasn’t had any setbacks to speak of. That’s certainly good but it doesn’t mean that he is significantly ahead of schedule. | so RG3 was back in town for the Mike Epps comedy show. It doesn't necessarily mean that Rg3 is ahead of schedule, it just means he hasn't had any set backs. Which to me is a good sign! _________________

It's crazy how far medicine has come and how fast people can recover from surgeries that were once career enders. Hope we keep hearing positive things in terms of RGIII's recovery _________________

You are right, but I sort of suspect that this recovery is getting a lot from RG3 genetics which are quite far from ordinary...
...finger crossed... |

| Well that is good news that RGIII has a shot at starting day one, however I would be very very careful with him. Remember he will not have any OTAs, mini camps or training camp nor any preseason games. For my money Cousins starts and if he plays well he keeps starting until our bye. I want to make sure RGIII is not only 100% health by also 100% ready mentally to take the field. We can't afford to have him in there if he is not physically, mentally and have enough practice to be 100% of the RGIII we saw in games before he got hurt. Cousins will do just fine. |

Great Stuff there turtle thanks!!!
I like how he said recently that he was looking to play week 1, but he wouldn't sacrifice his career in order to do so. Seems like the seriousness of his injuries this year got home to him.
But that quote about a "better Robert Griffin" _________________
