If I'm smart enough to use the last penny to my name to get a taxi instead of driving while drunk, I think someone with more money should be able to do the same.
Then again I had a friend who had 6 DUI's before turning 21, no longer talk to him.

I know this is probably a bad time to ask this question, but I truly don't know the answer.
If a player is sentenced to jail time or dies.... what happens to their salary cap figures? Is the team off the hook for that money? Or is it the same as cutting a player and you still have to pay whatever is left remaining of their gaurantees? |

What happens when a player retires? Maybe it's the same? I honestly have no idea, but I've wondered myself.

If they are taken off the books it seems like a good way to get rid of expensive players that aren't producing 
It is a good question though.

And the other shoe finally dropped. It was only a matter of time with all these players thinking it is okay drive while intoxicated for another player to get into an accident and take another life.

Like others have said, getting into a car with a drunk driver is just as bad as being the drunk driver. These two made a huge mistake by getting into a car while being drunk. One paid with his life and the other will more then likely be spending a very long time in prison. With all the resources these guys have, its inexcusable. Sad story. Hope the current players, and people in general, learn from this.

Ya know, people playing football at the professional level takes the same amount of skills as middle school football.
On serious note though, the amount of business decisions and money management these guys go through far outweigh the difficulty of most 9-5's.
