Phil Loadholt Right Tackle Oklahoma

I could easily see the Front Office wanting to make sure they Solidify the Line. There looks to be a decent number of RTs hitting the market this season and Loadholt absolutely fits the Mold of what Fisher wants on the line, Mastodons. I wanted the big man out of Oklahoma in the Draft. He has proven to be a damn good RT and really paves the way for Peterson in Minnesota. You add that guy on the right side and all the sudden the OL is impressive.
Saffold - Watkins - Wells - Dahl - Loadholt
I really like that, they should be able to keep Sam clean and be a powerhouse in the running game. Add back in a versatile Turner, a guard with some potential like Shelly Smith, and a Swing Tackle like Barksdale or Williams and I really like that Line when healthy.

Danny Amendola Receiver Texas Tech

Clearly a must sign, and he wants to be here. Just get this done relatively quickly. We do need Sam to branh out and start to trust some of these other guys, but Danny has the unwavering trust from Sam. Its hard to imagine they dont get this done, and at a fair price. Once he can become the #2 reliable target this defense could be scary. Not sure who that #1 will end up being, but thats what we need to get to. And Ideally he is #2a with the other Wideout or Tight End as #2b.

Steven Jackcon Halfback Oregon St

This has a better chance of happening than most of us want it to. But I think it could turn out in our favor. I think Steven could he the market, take one lap though the pool and realize that the price tag (Money & Years) for a soon to be 30 year old RB approaching 3000 career touches. Then he sees that his Lions share of a work load in a place that he knows as home is much more comfortable than going to a place where he is fighting to prove himself. I wouldnt hate it, but I dont think I would like it that much either if its anything more than a 2 year deal.

1) Tommy Kelly Defensive Tackle Mississippi State

Ive been putting him in threads and mocks for a while now. He is one of the most noted Mike Wauffle reclamation projects. And on top of it he is now the exact type of guy this DL needs. Cudjo & Conrath are OK and all, but Kelly is a guy who is nasty and can really disrupt in the backfield. I said we would have that #3 DT who can come in and create a mess in the middle. This move would need the Raiders to cut him, but with his salary I cant see him staying. Seeing Kelly & Brockers standing next to each other would be scary.

1) Eric Reid Safety Louisiana State

Many dont agree with me, but I think Eric Reid has it all. I see the makings of a Top 5 Safety in the league. He has everything you look for in a safety; good size with a solid frame to compliment his smooth athleticism and solid speed/good range. What I like best about him are his instincts and recognition skills, plus his leadership and swagger that he brings. He has the mentality of a Free Safety with all the tools to play the Strong Safety in this scheme. Some question his play vs the Run, but in the SEC Ive seen him fill just as good as anyone not to mention he can really lay some Wood. One of the most underrated parts of his game is his playmaking ability, he has a nose for the ball and always seems to come up with the big stop. He is an immediate answer to possibly our biggest issue right now and I see a guy who can be a Top of the league Safety for the next decade.

1) Dion Jordan Athlete Oregon

I can already hear everyone complaining, calling it a "luxury pick" and what not. Well guess what, we have a Second 1st Round draft pick, that is the definition of Luxury. And in the end he is a guy who could be the missing element to this defense, not to mention his crazy versatility. This guy can Cover, Rush and make plays from any spot on the field (think a young Adalius Thomas). He is a freak of an athlete and I think he fits in grea as a hybrid/joker type as the SLB. He would give this defense the versitility that most teams can only dream about. He could fit into a 4-3 best due to his narrow base right now as he isnt a guy who is going to have his hand in the dirt often and shouldnt be expected to anchor the run on every play as a 34 OLB. But in a Manny Lawson/Von Miller type role he could really excel. Now every one of our LBs can cover and both the OLBs have some nice pass rush ability.

2) Tony Jefferson Safety Oklahoma

Yep, another safety. We are in a bad way with out safeties right now, and next year with Dahl & Mikell going (keep your fingers crossed) we are going to need a major overhaul. Jefferson is the perfect deep safety for this cover 2 scheme. I would never feel worried if both our Corners playing press with Jefferson back there, he can cover just about the entire back half himself. He can cover as well as a corner, and this year he has added some bulk that helps him when sticking with TEs deep and he has even shown more propensity to come up and help in run support. Just like last year when we flipped the DT position and DL as a whole from a question mark to a strength in one offseason, we can do the exact same thing with the secondary this year. Adding an impressive safety Dup of Reid & Jefferson to our already impressive and ascending group of safeties gives us a damn good secondary.

3) Markus Wheaton Wideout Oregon State

Wait? Is jrry writing the middle of this mock? Well, the guy knows his prospects, and Wheaton could be the final piece to the Receiving Corps. He isnt the 6'4" moster that alot of people want, but this is the exact type of WR that Fisher likes. The speed guy with good hands. He has very good hands, with some great speed and beyond impressive quick-twitch ability. He and Givens do share alot of similarities, but their games differ just enough that they would compliment each other very well. Bing Ben has been good with that type of duo in Wallace & Brown, Holt & Bruce (although more route running than speed) we damn good, and a guy who jrry compared Wheaton to Marvin Harrison along with Reggie Wayne werent too shabby in Indy. Amendola, Givens, Quick, & Wheaton is one heck of a WR group that Sam could really exploit with the protection he should now get.

4) Cornellius ‘Tank’ Carradine Defensive End Florida State

Tank was on his way to a Top 25 pick, he was tearing it up this season, then he blew out his knee. Much like O'Brien Schofield (who I really liked coming out) he is going to fall like a rock with this injury and not being able to work out at all. But someone is likely going to really benefit from this fall, and I hope its us. Being limited to a 4-3 DE will also only push him down more as it limits the teams likely to be interested. Tank was not only a guy who had shown the ability to rush the passer, he looked good anchoring the run also. I would think we could retain Sims if Fisher wants him back, but hanging onto Hayes is going to be a bit tougher. We need to replenish the DL, and even though he may not be able to start the season, he would be an impressive 3rd DE behind Quinn & Long.

5) Tyrann Mathieu Defensive Back Louisiana State

Yes, I am a proponent of taking a chance on the Honey Badger, actually can we stop calling him that? I think you loose that privilege when you get kicked out of a Top school in conference most lack on rules. His draft hype was out of control to start with, I never had him graded out any higher than a Top 75 pick, and with the problems he has (obviously not "just some pot" to deal with) I dont have him in the Top 125 draft-able these days/ But I ams willing to take the chance here. With shoring up the Safety spots, and already having a good group of Top 3 CBs, there isnt much pressure on Mathieu. He would be the Dime back and 3rd Safety we can put out there just to make some plays. But most of all he can be a return specialist (Kickoffs & Punts}. That way we can use his dynamic skills while also keeping our more used guys (Amendola, Jenkins, Givens) out of those dangerous duties.

6) Michael Williams Tight End Alabama

I know ther eis already some rumors of us having interest in Williams. I dont put any stock in rumors at this point, but I can clearly see why they would have interest. I couldnt help but continuously be impressed while watching the SECGC. He is an excellent blocker, both Run and Pass. Getting a guy like Williams would allow Kendricks to be more of a receiver that he was drafted to be. He has shown flashes of it, but being relegated to the 6h Lineman on most plays it really hinders him. Seeing how Schotty has been using Mulligan makes me think this is the type of pick that is bound to happen. He wants to have a TE out as a weapon, but needs another to block, and apparently Milligan cant block that well. Williams has sure hands, he is just a rock after making that catch. Allowing Kendricks to split out and even line up at H-back would add a new dimension to this offense that we havent seen yet

7) Mychael Rivera Tight End Tennessee

Yes, another TE. Im sorry but McNeill is not good enough to be on an NFL roster. He is too slow and doesnt block well enough to add anything. Rivera on the other hand is the best kept secret of the SEC. This guy has molded himself into a very nice weapon, only if UT and Bray would use him. When he became vocal, and wanted to be used he put up impressive games. Just go watch the Tennessee/Mizzou game. Not only did he put up nice stats, but he made some catches the you see NFL TEs drop all the time. Having 2 actual Weapons at TE, along with a nasty blocker, and we have depth in the weapons department that we havent seen since the Martz days. Plus he has a hot sister, so...

I'd love if Tank fell that far but I just can't see it happening. Someone will take a shot at him before the 4th round. The guy oozes talent...

Also not a big fan of the Dion Jordan Pick but I understand the reasoning. Overall I think you did a great job. If we really could pull of an off-season like this I think we would be immediate playoff contenders. The defense would be NASTY

Im not going to argue much about the pick selections exactly because it is different and a bit refreshing to see different, plus there wont be any changing your mind. I respect your mock but i do not like it.

I dont think Reid is worth a top 25 pick, he is good but i dont see the elite talent that you see. The combination of Reid/Jefferson/HoneyBadger with Jenks/Finnegan/Tru at the corners would be one of the most dynamic secondaries ever assembled so while i dont like where Reid is chosen, i still like the idea.

Dion Jordan, yeah I dont like it at all. Just because we have luxury pick doesnt mean you have to take a luxury player. We can just agree to disagree on this one.

Wheaton is a great WR prospect and I am not disputing that, but I suppose I am cliche and would rather have the typical Allen, Williams or even Robert Woods in the 2nd. I liked your other mock better with a trade to obtain Britt.

The only other thing i would really argue is that SOMEWHERE Left Gaurd needs to be addressed IMO.

Its a cool mock but i would be upset on draft day if this happened.

I like Rivera (and his sister). I think he could go a lot higher.

Like others, I'm not really a Reid fan. And instead of drafting two safeties, I think we should get a vet FA. Love the Tommy Kelly pickup. Why not reunite him with his old coach who really jump started his career? Loadholt is a nice option at RT but what about LG?

Just a few things I wanted to put in.

Good mock. I had Loadholt in an earlier mock, and still believe he should be one of the Ram's targets this offseason.

What about LG? I like the potential that Dion Jordan shows, but perhaps taking Chance Warmack there is a better option?

Love it besides the Jordan pick. I know you explained it but I cannot picture him fitting into our D. If he can, then I'd love the pick.

I like this draft because it's completely different than most of the ones you see here and also the one that has a good chance of happening.

I love this draft. Love it. I love the strength and versatility this adds to our defense. We go from a pretty good defense to one of the tops; immediately.

With the free agency, retained players, and draft our offense becomes strong and unpredictable. This daft points the team towards dominance.

Apparently a bunch of you have already forgotten about Rok Watkins. They really like him, drafted him to be that LG, and there is a plenty good chance that Warmack is taken in the first half of the draft. Potentially higher than either one of our picks end up being.

I like Warmack plenty, but some of you (actually most of you) are so locked into that thought, you can't even entertain another option at this point.

As for drafting 2 safeties, you can't count on being able to sign a FA. Most of them will likely be locked up (extension or Tag) and there might not end up being anyone worth paying what their price tag becomes. (Very likely scenario)

I havent forgotten about Rok one bit i just dont think hes that good. And he played what... 2 games? Before he was on IR? Yeah it doesnt have to be Warmack, in fact if we can find a good starter in the other rounds as oppose to Warmack then i welcome it completely.

I started out not liking it(not a huge Eric Reid fan...wouldn't be opposed to us drafting a guy like Xavier Rhodes to move him to FS) but you redeemed yourself. Jordan would make a very interesting pick.

As for Mathieu, I think people have really started to underrate his cover skills. He got so much hype that people started selling him short to be different. Yes, he's not Mo Claiborne. His size limits him in coverage. However, he's still good in coverage with elite instincts and is a great open field tackler as well as a great blitzer.

Really an excellent all around player. Very Cortland Finnegan like on the field.

I too question the Reid pick. What about taking a guy like Amerson there to play safety? I think I'd feel more comfortable with Amerson at that pick then Reid. Love the Jefferson pick in the second and Wheaton. Not sold on Jordan giving us the type of impact we need out of our first rounders. As others have said, a guy like Warmack or Cooper might be nice here, as they would have immediate impact to our team.

And I hope we don't ignore the OLB position like always, its arguably one of the biggest areas of need.
