| Quote: | Arizona Cardinals defensive end Darnell Dockett has been fined a "six-figures" amount for an on-field incident in which he allegedly spit at teammate Kerry Rhodes, a source told ESPN.
Sources told ESPN that Dockett is appealing the fine. Rhodes denied that Dockett spit, and Dockett has since apologized. |

Ridiculous fine, IMO.
Not a player safety issue, and if Rhodes says it didn't happen, then there shouldn't have been any fine at all. It's ridiculous.
Is this fine crossing the line? Should the NFL let "in-house" incidents like this stay that way?
Curious, was JPP fined for throwing Prince in the tub? If not, how is this a fine worthy offense? The guy who allegedly got spit on is denying it even happened.
Edit: New information points to this fine coming from within the Cardinals organization.
| Quote: | | 8:02PM EST December 7. 2012 - The Arizona Cardinals have fined defensive lineman Darnell Dockett just more than $100,000 for his role in an argument with teammate Kerry Rhodes last week against the New York Jets. |

| NFL.com is reporting that it's a 200k fine.... Wow! Didn't see the play but that's a lot for something that's alleged and that Rhodes denies. |

Wow... definitely out of the blue type of fine.
How much did Romanowski get fined for spitting in an opponents face? or did he? _________________ Stay low boys.... keep those feet moving!

The fine was by the Cardinals organisation and not the NFL. _________________

IDK if he did, but it's not really comparable either way.
I don't think you think it's comparable, I'm just saying. _________________

200k isn't even a game check for him. And I doubt they would be doing this if it were not confirmed, I think Rhodes just denied it because the Cards wanted to keep it in house. |

Source? That link I posted lists all the fines for that week, so it made it seem like this one was by the NFL as well. _________________

I thought the Cardinals were the source of the fine as well but the link suggested otherwise so I have no idea. It makes more sense for the team to be involved but we've seen the NFL get Fine-Happy before. |

I was wondering that. That makes a lot more sense. _________________

This is why people don't take the NFL Fine thing seriously and argue that it is not about player safety in how they fine... Clearly regulating in-fighting and spitting are more important than player safety. _________________

And this is why some people don't take some posts seriously.
2 or 3 posts before yours explain how it was not a fine made by the NFL but by the team yet you merrily either ignore them or just plain don't read them and make a totally irrelevant comment. |
