Quote:
"When I came in on Monday, we called each player and I asked them to come in and I met with them individually just to get acquainted with 'em so that when they came to work on Wednesday, they didn't wonder who the coach was and all that stuff," Brasher said. "We all sat down and had a conversation, broke the ice, and then Wednesday, everything was ready to go."

Now that Washburn and the wide-9 are gone, how will the line look?
Tom Brasher has been teaching the line a much different scheme.

http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/20121206_Eagles_d-line_learning_brand-new_scheme.html

Quote:
Players said they are being told to "read and react" now, instead of taking a step upfield when the ball is snapped, but Brasher bristled at that description.

"I don't have 'em doing any read-and-react. It's react off the [opponent's] first step," Brasher said.

Asked about Cox and how he would fit in any scheme
Quote:
"He can play any scheme," Brasher said. "He's a big, quick guy. He can play 3-4, he can play the scheme I'm teaching, he can play the scheme anybody teaches, he's got that much physical ability."

In a 3-4, Cox, 6-4, 298, would be "an end, and a damn good one," Brasher said.

So we're basically going back to what we did in 2010. So the last two years are basically a dream.

Except now our LBs are decent in coverage so our DEs won't drop back.

Apparently he spent the last 7 years as a consultant to Andy Reid.

I expect a lot of hesitant, false steps...maybe a few off-sides because they're thinking too much.

I'm sure Reid speaks to all his old coaches to get their views on things.

So we're basically... a normal football team now and not running some gimmicky scheme. It's an improvement.
