Who cares about coverage, we need to rush the passer.
Also, Spotrac, says that Bennett TE NTG is a FA this year, we should chase him hard, he can block and catch and would look lovely next to Housler. |
No we haven't had that kind of production but we NEED that kind of production is the point. We can't just go find another stop gap or someone that's just going to be average to slightly above average. We need a strong OLB presence to make this defensive unit truly elite IMO. |

B I N G O
and bingo was his name-o!
Having an OLB that struggles in coverage can limit what defensive plays get called. |

Yup. The whole point of LeBeau's zone blitz system is confusion. The opposing offense/QB doesn't know who will blitz or from where they'll blitz on any given play. Best example, the 08 Super Bowl. Kurt Warner thought James Harrison was going to blitz and made the determination pre-snap to try and hit Anquan Boldin across the middle down around the goal line. Instead, Harrison dropped into that zone and the rest, well, we all know. Kurt said point blank after the game that he never had any idea that Harrison was gonna be in that spot. The confusion drives the system. You line a guy up and blitz him 99 times of 100, that confusion disappears. Defeats the whole purpose. _________________

I wonder if Jon Beason, albeit coming off an injury, would be available through a trade with Carolina.
They'll likely have a new head coach, and I've heard they wanna switch back to a 4-3 with Kuechly in the middle.
Just thinking outloud at some creative options at ILB. _________________

Depends on the contract. It'd have to be cheap for me to take the guy on, with his injury history and lack of 3-4 experience. _________________

I could be wrong, but did Lenon have any 3-4 experience...I don't think he did. _________________

I don't think he did, no. Thing there is, Lenon came dirt cheap. 3 years, 4.5 million. 1.5 mill a year average. Our long snapper makes 1.1... _________________
