Fairly simple, and I think it's a decent debate as there are many different players you could put in the top. My list is probably wrong in most people's eyes but you know, who cares right.

1. Ryan Clady
2. Duane Brown
3. Joe Staley
4. Joe Thomas
5. Trent Williams

I didn't include Peters because he hasn't really played this season and I seem to be very very heavy on AFC tackles, they just seem to have more all around name recognition in the group. I'm actually more interested in what the rest of FF thinks about Left Tackles in general.[/u]

Russell Okung and Matt Kalil should probably be somewhere close to the top of this list.

This year? Absolutely not.

He has been average at best most of the year.

Anyway....Max Starks deserves some love. Not top 5, but top 10. And not so much because he has been anything special, but because LT play around the league isnt too great this year.

Still, Starks has been good to very good most of the year. Deserves some love because alot of people hate on him a good bit when he is actually a pretty solid LT.

Clady
Brown
Staley
Albert
Williams

I no longer see the point in including either Thomas or Long, as the are no longer the untouchable tier they were recently. I know Clady, Brown, and Albert have allowed only one sack each, with Brown and Albert being stellar in the run game as well. Williams I think has allowed a few more, but that comes with blocking for a running QB.

You hyping him up every chance you get for the next year and a half should do it.

Matt Kalil needs to be on these lists. I don't care if he is a rookie, he is already a top 5 LT.

A Pats fan to post, because apparently everybody is going to post (in some order)
Ryan Clady
Duane Brown
[some LT]
[some LT]
[OMG MY TEAM'S LT IS THE BEST]

When really, Solder's pretty damn awesome but will never get the credit he deserves because he's like the 7th best starter on the offense.

This year he's been 4th at worst behind Brady, Gronk and Welker. He's done an outstanding job in all phases.

I love this post. Laughing

I will say though all of players mentioned so far do deserve credit. No outlandish players being named yet. The OP came up with a good list and players like Solder, Albert, Okung and Kalil have had solid seasons. Even Max Starks when healthy has played well for the Steelers...

True. He's never been a Pro Bowler or All Pro like Mankins, Hernandez, or Vollmer, though, so most non-Pats fans would put those three ahead of him too. Without injuries, they might be ahead of him. Either way, he's not getting the recognition he deserves.
