For as much crap as this guy took last year, fans should really be praising him this year.
Alot of people dont seem to realize that there are very few kickers that are good EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Suisham had a mediocre year last year, but his first year with us he was dependable and this year he has been money and one of the better kickers in the league.
Is he the best kicker in the league? No.
Does he have a rocket leg? No.
But people used to shower Jeff Reed with love, and Jeff Reed's career here was plageud with its fair share of ups and downs.
Not saying you have to love Suisham, but at least give credit where credit is due. _________________

| Im a fan of Sushi. People killed him last year and this offseason for struggles, some deservedly so. Good kickers are never praised, because it's expected. I bet if he missed the last kick yesterday, there'd be wayyy more negatives towards him today than praises that he made that kick. |

He should be at least mentioned for the Pro-Bowl. I never thought I would say that about him. I don't feel nervous when he kicks unlike last year. He's done a great job of coming back from a very poor season. He's kicking with a lot of confidence and it shows. _________________

He's always been an accurate kicker, he had some trouble last year, but it wasn't a terrible year.
His leg strength and clutch kicking have plagued his career the most, but he's much improved in the clutch.
I was kind of ticked he made the team, Hrapman, the kicker that was on the team in the preseason, was much better, but I can't complain about Suisham's season so far. _________________ Kickers are people too |

He's definitely had a great year. His only miss was that very long kick against the Titans at the end of the game. If I remember correctly, it was like 56 yards, and he barely missed it short. _________________ Come Follow My Oakland Multi-Sport Franchise! |

Being from VA, the Suisham hate was unreal during his tenure in DC
That being said he's been money for us this season.
Still can't kick worth a damn on kickoffs though _________________

Kickers are like..... I'm sure there's some sort of simile or metaphor to make here but the takeaway here is that I'm afraid that if I start saying positive things about Sushi he'll break my heart in new and creative ways. _________________ Geno Smith, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, and Bruce Irvin will all have at least 1 pro bowl season each by the end of the decade.

That was my point earlier.
Kickers all around the league have a tendency to be inconsistent. Very few are consistent and reliable ALL THE TIME.
BUT, Suisham still deserves love, especially after how much hate he got last year.
Its like every player....you can hate them when they are down, but at least give them credit when they are doing well...and vice versa. _________________

He does deserve mad props.
Last year I was one of his lone supporters despite mediocre numbers.
I too jumped off his wagon and onto the Hrappmann wagon in pre season, but mostly because it seemed to make great cap sense.
Tomlin knew something we all didn't I suppose, or because his insight and understanding of the players is the reason he is the coach and we aren't.
Props to Tomlin as well for standing by with Sushi and making a great call. _________________

Good post and yes, well deserved. I to, was a Hrapmann supporter based on last year's mediocrity display by Suisham.
Hopefully his level maintains throughout the rest of the season and post-season. The postseason, fair or not, is how he'll be remembered when this year is all said and done...
...remember Ike...he was "D" "U" "N" done according to most after last year's playoff loss, regardless of the regular season he had prior to it. _________________

It's a shame but for the most part kickers only get remembered for the ones they miss.
I have much love for Suisham. _________________
