How will Hernandez and Welker both have big games? Presumably one of those guys is going to get a lot of attention. Lloyd is a non-factor and the rest of the Pats WR/TE corps is pretty awful and useless (Fells, Shiancoe, Stallworth, Hoomanawanui, Slater).
One of those guys might have a good game, but I'd be surprised if they both do. |
I am expecting a lot of quick passes, a lot of the bubble screens they ran last week. Some creative plays to get Hernandez going. Perhaps they will even go deep to Lloyd or *gasp* Donte. _________________

Just woke up from first nightmare in ages.
Patriots facing Niners.. Winning 21-17 at half time and we picked them off 6 times. Then in the second half they score 24 points in each of the 3rd and 4th quarters and we were losing 48-27 with 8 minutes left.
(yes I realize the math doesn't ad up)
Edit:
Keys to the game:
1. Don't bite on play action. It seems every week Schaub gets one or two tds on wide open play action. Secondary needs to stay at home and our frot 7 needs to have a big day against the run.
2. Run the ball. We can't get one dimensional and let them tee up on Brady. Run the ball and force them to defend both. This is true every week but the texans are third in sacks iirc.
3. Stop Andre. He single handedly beat the jags. Jam him at the line and put McCourty over him the entire game. No free big plays. _________________

Well Edelman is apparently out with a broken foot
But the Texans signed Stanford Routt so it balances out _________________

Here's what I'm kind of hoping. Two ugly losses to the Texans and Niners, then they barely beat the Jaguars and roll over the Dolphins. Build some "momentum" going into the playoffs. Then they right the wrong the replacement referees did in actually beating the Ravens.
Hopefully they can finally get something going on defense against the Niners, Jaguars, and Dolphins, but this week I don't see it. At all. I have a feeling this one's going to be frustrating. I think Brady's the only hope right now, really. Edelman being out really sucks. I don't know how I feel about him as a player, honestly, but he's probably a better option than Stallworth, Hoomanawhatee, Fells, Shiancoe, hell, maybe even Lloyd. Scary how much poorer the offense looks without Gronk out there. Maybe Slater gets some looks or something, who knows.
I played a friend of mine the other day as these teams in Madden, pulled it out with a field goal as time expired. Not that I have much faith in real life Gostkowski anymore anyway.
Side note: anyone know why (who I'm pretty sure was) Sam Aiken is on the Pats roster in Madden 13? All updates there, etc...could have sworn he hasn't been on the team in years. |

I called a five wideout play, so that would make sense. Strange, regardless.
Anyway, the Texans. Two other things I don't know: How's their offensive line, and hows Chandler doing? |

The Texans' starting RT missed last week and it looks like he'll miss this game too. Sounds like a perfect recipe for a Ninkovich strip-sack.
Jones can't really be counted on for anything no matter how healthy he is. He's going up against Duane Brown, who might just be the best LT in the NFL.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of 3-4 by the Pats. They need to stop the Texans from running (and setting up playaction), and putting five guys on the line of scrimmage as opposed to the usual 4 should help them from getting beat to the corner.
I'd put Wilfork heads up against Brown, something the Pats used to do to Jake Long when he was actually good. I don't know exactly where Jones fits in the 3-4 (LE or OLB), but Harris is about as small of a right tackle as there is, so it's not a horrible matchup against the run.
So perhaps a DL of Wilfork, Love, and Jones from offensive left to right, with Ninkovich, Mayo, Spikes, and Hightower as the LBs. _________________ Shut up, NBT |

If he comes back at all during the regular season I'd be very surprised. _________________

I think we are going to lose when we are likely going to lose. We are missing half of our top ten players.
I've predicted I think two three loses the past year. Giants sb. Ravens game. And this texans game.
Texans win 38-20 _________________
