| How do the Patriots currently have the #2 seed? The Ravens beat them head to head and have the same record. |

3 way tie between Pats/Broncos/Ravens. First tiebreaker is conference record, and since the Patriots have the best of the three teams, they get the #2 seed. It's extremely unlikely that the season will finish with all three teams having the same record, but that's how it stands today. _________________

Oh, wow! I would have definitely thought that the first tie breaker would be head to head match-ups. Not that I'm complaining! The Patriots control their own destiny to a first round bye. Not losing to the Texans or the 49ers is going to be really tough, but we all know they have the potential to pull it off. |

No, conference records is the 4th tiebreaker.

Technically head to head is always the 1st tiebreaker, so if Baltimore beats Denver and all 3 teams end 12-4, Baltimore gets the 2 seed. |

Actually, first tiebreaker is a sweep of the tied teams. If Baltimore were to lose to Denver and all three teams ended up at 12-4, Baltimore would own the tiebreaker, no matter what. |

Not true.
The Pats could win the rest of their games and still not get a bye. |

| as beat up as the pats are, I feel getting that bye is super important. I do not mind the road games (although I prefer them at home). I just want them to get that week off. |
